Long story short - I've just discovered that files that pass through Onyx/CutServer and are sent to our Summa F1612 / GoProduce are being ruined by adding thousands of nodes where they don't belong.
Am I missing a setting in Onyx that says "please ruin my cut files and turn 4 points into 500"...
What's happening with those studs and spacers? Looks like a bit of a hodge-podge install to me.
Personally I'd sell them a new set of cast aluminum letters from Gemini.

We've done printed/shape cut graphics and grids before, they might accumulate a bit of ink over time but shouldn't be too bad if they clean it properly.
This. We've done both, and it really depends on a lot of factors. I'm a huge fan of dropping smaller 2nd color objects in and masking together, then peeling mask and getting rid of all the bits and pieces. This way when you get to site it's a 1 piece install.

No. We use Oracal 3651 clear.
You might want to look at the specs for that substance vinyl you're using though. If it's high tack or some other special vinyl you may want to try some 3651 or similar to play around with.
Can you mask off the brick etc, spray background on-site back to off-white/beige/whatever then just install a shape-cut ACM sign overtop, cut to the red border shape?
Maybe use standoffs so when this business gets the boot from the crazy landlord you've got an easy sign swap.

No we haven't found to have a fuzzy look with 3651 clear. You do get a bit of "orange peel" effect on clear areas if you're not backing the whole thing with white vinyl/ink though.

We also have a UCJV and it's great for wall wraps. We generally use 3M 40C and Avery DOL 2080 Matte laminate and that combination has performed well.
