Check out 3M 8418 for the laminate, it's pretty nice stuff. I have no idea about longevity but we just burned through a few rolls of it and it's nice. Couple hundred cheaper than what we were paying for 8518 too.

No, I believe they added a "Touchstone" option on later models that allows you to print 2.5D / textured stuff but not positive if even the new ones can technically print ada compliant graphics.

Yeah it's great stuff. We stopped using the AE version but print tons of the regular HTAP version every day.
