  1. Just In Sign Pricing Calculator & Video Tutorials

FireSprint.com how would you account for something like the following (from a little job we just ran this morning) 3 signs @ 36" x 36" 3mm ACM, High tack vinyl & matte laminate I created a "substrate" that combines ACM + vinyl + lam but I think I need to factor in material yield etc. For...
  2. Need help! Cutter error when cutting vinyl.

How long is the job/batch? Are you printing w/ intermittent marks?
  3. Second surface printing scratches

Which Aslan product are you using for this? We usually just reverse print on 3651 clear then back w/ 651 white but with lighter backgrounds it definitely doesn't block out the light 100%. Thanks!
  4. not even a week old TRUvis vg3-640

Nothing like getting fatal errors on a brand new printer! Hope you get it sorted out.
  5. Customer interaction tracking

Just heard of this one today on a podcast, sounds/looks pretty impressive: https://www.torqcrm.com/home-page
  6. Guidance on material thickness

Apex does make flatbed cutters but I don't think they're associated with Roland, but I might be wrong. Then again based on the first post.............................. nevermind. :peace!:
  7. Guidance on material thickness

I think it's the lack of effort that is most surprising. If you actually have those materials and are trying to cut them, just measure them with a micrometer as mentioned. It's a great tool to have around the shop. All the materials that you listed probably total 100 different possible...
  8. Guidance on material thickness

What kind of Roland do you think you're going to be cutting all those materials on?
  9. Possible bad batch of 3M 180CV3

We've been replacing 3M 8518 w/ Arlon 3220 Gloss, and much prefer the Arlon product's finish and price point. Unfortunately (for Arlon I guess) 3M 8418 comes in even cheaper than 3220 so we're considering moving to that now.
  10. Possible bad batch of 3M 180CV3

I feel like this is 3M's MO. We're not printing anywhere near that scale but we've run into issues with their "premium" products for years. Mostly with 8519 and 8518 laminates. Depending on the rep, they would either flat out deny that they've had any other complaints/issues or nonchalantly...
  11. Need Help Prep Illustrator ATV / Snowmobile Graphic Files for Printing

This seems like the simplest/most logical way to do it, unless I'm missing something. Take it one step forward and use a true shape nesting plugin and you're away to the races.
  12. Review of the Roland LG-640

Some of the points you make, I believe, will apply across the board with roll to roll UV printers. We have Mimaki's version of this printer (UCJV), and have also found blacks to be dull and that there are challenges when it comes to cutting due to thicker UV ink, as well as masking printed...
  13. Graphics Question

Not sure I agree with this approach, but to each their own I guess. I understand the concept of law of averages but most of the time customers have no idea how to provide usable print files, which means that most customer supplied "art" needs to be set up or redrawn. Not charging for this time...
  14. I installed Versaworks 6 on new computer. How do I get my old jobs from old computer to show up in the queues and job log on the new computer?

Unless they've added a new archive feature, I believe you'd have to save all the .rvw files in your old queue/computer, then load them all in on the new computer.

  16. Latex vs Solvent coverage per ml

It can't be that simple!!!! Lol. I'll have to test that out next time I'm tracking ink consumption.
  17. Deposit / need more money

I'll show you a fun twist to your leisure moment!
  18. Latex vs Solvent coverage per ml

Yeah I'm not sure that picoliter size translates to ink consumption, but I could be wrong. Salesmen will tell you literally anything to make their offering sound better and make a sale.

  20. roland XC-540 NEW/USED Issues

We had this come up every so often with our old XC-540. It mostly happened with jobs that had full bleed black print and with a gloss laminate. We tried turning off the lights, having the cover open or closed...etc etc. I think the thing that helped the most was putting a small piece of...
