  1. NJ 3D Printing

Why not carve the whole thing? I'd be afraid of long term performace of the 3d printed eagle outdoors.
  2. Self-marketing opportunity?

Thankfully we can use signage intended to help patrons "locate a business" so that would cover a sign including our name, address, website, phone number.
  3. Self-marketing opportunity?

Our target audience is CMOs, Art Directors, Purchasing Managers, and others who need print or other communications work. We do commercial printing, wide format printing, warehousing, screen printing, and non-print work like online portals, marketing support, professional photography, and we...
  4. Self-marketing opportunity?

My thinking on that is train riders may work for a place that needs printing. Our neighbors in the $750k townhomes nearby may own companies or work in marketing departments where our services would be needed. There's a street running parallel to the large facade and perpendicular to rail line...
  5. Self-marketing opportunity?

I've posted something along these lines before, but I'll present it a different way. Our building is situated right next to a light rail line, with excellent exposure. I've lobbied for 20+ years that we should use the side of the building (we have two building, actually) for self-promotion...
  6. The annual question...how was business this year?

I'm not the owner, but I bought the books "Profit First" and "Fix this Next" and still need to read them.
  7. Info needed on routing HDU

How's the HDU sign business? I've had a couple of sample pieces from Corafoam for over a year that I've not tested yes. I need sample art.

HOW? And isn't it amazing that people are hungry in America yet we can find $1B to fund a LOSING campaign!
  9. TX install needed Baytown Texas

We do have a 100" Sabre. Was hoping to automate with the Colex.
  12. Discussion I've owned an HP R1000 since April 2019, ask me anything

I'd check your optimizer settings, which control how the ink adheres to the substrate. Maybe you're using too much or too little for this substrate. There are test plots that will show how each ink is performing, including optimizer.
  13. HP R1000 quality settings

When we bought this machine, we tried to set our default quality settings for estimating purposes. So we standardized at 6 pass for most things, increasing passes only when necessary. Now it seems like our standard has to be 10 pass or 12 pass to get acceptable quality even though we’re doing...
  14. Colex Sharpcut issue

Old thread, but what ended up solving the problem?
  15. Workflow suggestions for multiple transfer decals?

Hi and thanks for the feedback. The colored vinyl is black, rather than orange, this time around. Since our vinyl is 48" wide, and our mask is 54" wide, i figured the best way to apply it consistently across the sheet is by using the laminator. We were considering a way to have the sheet contain...
  16. Workflow suggestions for multiple transfer decals?

This project has come back, and I'm still struggling with an order of 40 qty. Please evaluate my suggested workflow: We have a Summa S2 T160, and a Colex Sharpcut flatbed cutter. We have a 62” wide laminator available. We have repeat jobs for cut vinyl tailgate transfer decals. These are a URL...
  17. How to calculate speed of oscillating blade cutting foamboard?

What does the cutter manufacturer say? Colex provides a cutting speed/feed chart by material. It gives us at least a guideline.
  18. Issues Cutting Foam Core

Yes, the part in the photo, which is the large pulley and bearing, plus a fresh belt, is due to arrive today for install. Both are coming direct from Colex.
  19. Issues Cutting Foam Core

We had a drive pulley with bearings that were shot. Our machine is a 2015 model and was becoming inaccurate on some more intricate cuts. So check slack/play/give in the gantry on both sides to see if something's loose. At first I wanted to blame vacuum, then the camera, but I checked that...
  20. Small Acrylic Shapes Cut on Colex Sharpcut

Have you tried the bridge function? https://mecsoft.com/blog/bridges-tabs-explored/ OR https://www.colex.com/cut-center-8/ Automatic Bridges Bridges prevent falling out of milled parts. Parameters such as length, distance and number can be specified individually. With manual bridges, the...
