I have to know if I am the only one who experiences this when cutting decals or any cut graphic (not always but enough to write about it)
I run a Summa d140 cutter and every so often while cutting the printed decals, the material starts to crimp up once it moves far enough forward to reach the...
Ever have those days where no matter what you try to do you screw it up?
Yea, I having one of those today....all printers and plotters are fighting me on just about anything I try to do.
Nothing major but it starts to build up and I just want to hurl a stapler through the wall.
This thread...
Talk about confusing!!! I have no idea what side has the glue on it and I have yet to figure out how to seperate the lam from the clear backer!!!
any hints on doing this would greatly be appreciated.
:banghead:
This is the second time in 5 years I have done this.
Needless to say the heads are soaking for an hour to see if I can get them up and running 100%.
Not sure why such a critical aspect of maintenance on a machine is done while the power is off with no warning of moving the head back.
I...
Need to find a vendor who does this. The piece has a chrome look and everything is rounded, sort of like doming but the colour is not clear like a dome.
any ideas?
Tandem Writing Assignment
The following is a true story received from an English professor.
You know that book "Men are from Mars, Women from Venus"? Well, here's a prime example of that. This assignment was actually turned in by two of my English students: Rebecca (last name deleted)...
Signlab 8 issue.
This is just insane.
I have 2 sets of graphics in this file. A series of numbers with weed borders on them and then 7 or 8 simple words with weed borders.
I cut the numbers already and they are fine but each time I send the words out to cut I see the words but the weed...
No not what you thinking...... Was in the back on the phone and some guy comes in and left 50 step stakes on my counter and told the graphic designer that he did not have the heart to throw them in the trash!!
lol I never even saw who it was? I wonder if I sold them to him?
bonus!!
Just curious if I can get any feedback on this media. I saw that my retractable stand dealer was using it and the print looked good and the material had a grey backing for block out.
I have no idea how this can happen but it just did this morning and I have seen it before.
I have not even had that particular computer on for 2 days since the last job it ran.
This morning I set up a print cut job and when it finished printing I hit the cut button. Unfortunately it started...
Working on this 20' boat and I have to put a 4" reflective stripe along the side. When I get towards the front and it starts to curve, I just can't keep that stripe straight on the line I need it to be on.
I have cut it at that point and tried using a heat gun but it is a little to severe to...
This pic of a banner is at least 10 years old. I did it for a local Dave & Busters and it is on 18oz banner material. I remember using a 5 year calendered vinyl as they said it would be up for a year.
I was there today and although the banner is anything but white now I looked at the letters...
I have a 22' boat in the shop for reflective striping and the hull just won't come clean with methyl hydrate or all purpose cleaner. Is there anything that is safe to remove these stains? If not how well does vinyl stick to it?
I have a friend in the screen printing biz who has to quote supplying these to a customer. Anybody out there know what this material actually is?
I got one with a phone protector I bought for my phone and I couldn't figure out what it was as it did not have a permanent adhesive and could be...
TOOLS EXPLAINED
DRILL PRESS: A tall upright machine useful for suddenly snatching flat metal bar stock out of your hands so that it smacks you in the chest and flings your beer across the room, denting the freshly-painted project which you had carefully set in the corner where nothing could get...
I posted this originally in the premium section but did not get any responses.
Here's the problem.
I am doing a job for a client who only does the install of the prints that I will make for his client.
His client wants a 62" x 25' sections of a digitally printed file that they selected...
I was reading in my local paper this morning a full page article on the hating of the font Comic Sans and it's history.
Apparently it was created by a Microsoft employee for a childrens program but got used again and again for other programs.
They then went on to say how it has shown up on...
I can't remember where I got the refill roll and it has white plastic cores.
I ran out of Duracoat and in a frenzy found this roll so decided to use it.
I am digitally printing and cutting on both Graphtec and Summa as well as my Envision all at once and I start to smell a sour milky odour...
This is typical. I am doing a new Sprinter and this logo is 2 colour and has a sunflower 3M 220 vinyl on the base then I use 3M black on top of it.
I thought something was weird when I was weeding the yellow... it looked like I saw white streaking on it but then when I looked closer I could...
