  1. Question Squeegee issues.

Look up Yello Tools Timber Max. I can apply 4'x8' sheets by myself just hinge in the center.
  2. Print on clear for lighted application

not sure what -30% is. We print backlit signs all the time. We print color white color with the front color being 100% color then white then the back color at 50% to avoid washout when the lights are on.
  3. Question UV Ink Curing in strange places in machine? EFI H1625

Solution get rid of the 1625 and go with the 16h. We had nightmares with the 1625 the first 1.5 years. EFI agreed to do a machine swap and we then did an upgrade. 16h is way better with minor hickups.
  4. Digital (flatbed) cutter

Zund all the way. Yes they are at the top of the price range but it will last forever and finishes everything amazing. Very easy to use. We have had ours 3 years and not 1 tech visit. No need and buying a lower end model to have to eventually upgrade later.
  5. CNC Routing Max Metal

Trial and error. I would imagine you will need to go to the top of the bottom aluminum layer to get a good clean fold to where the edges match up well without gaps.
  6. Sewing machine for banners and textiles

Juki 1560 Double Needle with .5" needle spacing. I used to heat weld but stitch everything now.
  7. Mimaki UJF-3042FX adhesion issue

Depending on the material being printed on you could have a bad batch. Try an adhesion promoter and see if that helps. Are you cleaning the material before printing? We have been running a 6042 and 3042 for about 7 years and have not had adhesion issues except on some glass at times. We are...
  8. What printer should I buy? Latex or UV?

What are the UCJV Printers costing? We have looked into selling our EFI 16H and going true roll to roll but it sounds slow. The max print speed is 277 sqft/hr where the max print speed on the EFI is 976 sqft/hr. Why the big difference is my question. Going to go to Printing United show to...
  9. Scorpion illustration (cartoonish)

a quick run through Vector Magic and about 15 minutes of clean up and you will be good to go.
  10. Suggestions UV direct printing on glass

Pyrosil Flame treatment is recommended by a lot of manufacturers. We just got some stuff from Kolorcure. Have not tried glass but their metal adhesion promoter works well.
  11. Is cut lettering dying?

Its not going to completely die out but it is very limited these days. Most people now want a pantone color instead of a stock color vinyl. Yes many brands now have pantone colors but why stock all that vinyl when you can have a single roll and do a print/cut.
  12. Need Help can i change the ink of my machine ? jfx200 2513

Not sure what your unhappy about I ran a JFX200 using those inks for 6 years and never had any problems. I would stay away from China inks.
  13. grainy yard signs

the larger companies will run their machines on a faster profile. They are looking to get them out the door as fast as possible. 98% of the time we run all of our signage at showroom quality even yard signs. In doing that we have a lot of return customers as they don't think about these signs...
  14. How would you handle this situation?

You have to stick to your guns. There is a shop in town that prices UV printing so cheap at times I wonder how they are staying open. There are only 2 companies in town that have a cutter/router with us being one of them. I get bids on projects all the time and they come back and ask if I can...
  15. How to change the ink type on a Mimaki JFX200-2510

Mimaki will make it almost impossible for you to do on your own. When we sold our JFX-200 the buyer wanted to flush the machine himself before moving instead of having a technician do it. The instructions he found were not very clear. Basically you need to flush out all the old ink, change...
  16. Zund polishing bit

I do not have one but saw stuff it was used on when I was doing a demo at their headquarters. We have a flame polisher already and the edge the Zund puts out is already very smooth so if we want a polished edge we hit it with a quick pass using that. It would be interesting to hear others...
  17. Need Help Deciding on a Flatbed, Intermittent Use

I would suggest the Mimaki JFX200. We had one for 5 years and it was a great machine for a starter. When we got our new EFI flatbed to increase our production the JFX200 would sit for over a week. I could start it up and everything would be fine and ready to print on the nozzle check. If we...
  18. Mimaki JFX200

We had one of the first machines when they came out. I loved the JFX200 but it was just too slow for our growing business. We needed better than 18 minutes for a 4x8 sheet using CMYK. White was pretty good but will double print speeds. Our new machine is the EFI Pro24. 4x8 sheets in 6...
  19. Suggestions HP FB 500 or 700

Have you checked out the EFI 16H. We love ours and the white is very opaque.
  20. Discussion I know my answer already, what's yours...........................

Customer is always right.....right? I will suggest that it is not going to work well with black but if they insist I do it black. Then when they are not happy I can say remember that conversation that the black would not work good, then charge them to change them all.
