I am not sure of current pricing my guess would be $125,000 range. I print acrylic all the time no issues. We also run custom shapes on acrylic and route on a Zund and ink adheres fine using the 3M ink it came with.

EFI Pro 16H is a great hybrid printer. We have it and the Pro 24F. Cost will be higher than some of the other units mentioned but no issues with mine.

Mimaki JFX200 is a great machine. We ran one for 5 years. Had to upgrade to a faster machine though.

Set your layers in illustrator send to Prep Center it then rips out your print file and cut file to the assigned folders. Print your job, scan the barcode and Zund cut Center will tell you what tool you need and start cutting. Really easy to use and fool proof for operators.

better build, ease of use on software, ease of changing tooling. I know of a few large shops that had Esko and switched to Zund and said they would never go back and have 3 of the largest Zund tables you can get. We have had our machine over two years and have not had a tech visit yet.

I would say neither and get a Zund. When we looked into them the Zund was a far better machine over the Esko platforms.

I would wither use transparent vinyl or find someone locally that can print color white color with the back color layer at about 50%. That is the best way we have found to print a backlit sign to where it looks good day and night.

We use a EFI printers to print all of our acrylic and backlit applications. Color white Color when you print and it comes out amazing. Much easier than eco solvent inks. I would suggest having the manufacturer print test files for you then you can get them back and cut them as well.

Not sure what the plastic is but try some of the vinyls like Arlon 8000 that are meant for low energy plastics.

I woudl just get a machine that will read registration marks. Any other way seems like more work than needs to be done. We have a Zund and it is awesome. In the 3 years it has been off maybe a 16th inch a few times.

You have to manually adjust the pressure valves on the back of the machine opposite side of the carriage.

We use the Stahls Hotronix. We have the dual air fusion and 2 of the standard fusion presses. The air versions are nice as you dont have to set the pressure manually.

Look into the Vision engravers. They have a 12" x 12" table that I believe you can integrate the braille pen in the machine to insert the beads. We have the 1212, Max Pro and the 2550 from them.

If ink is dripping out of your head I would say its time for a new head. I never touch the head on our Mutoh just clean around it.

Is the head as ancient as your printer? Could be the head going out and you might be getting droplets building up on the head and dragging. Can you see ink starting to drip out of the head?
