  1. Automatic cut job is not working (barcode on top)

    I've had similar cutting issues on a graftec. To resolve 90% of the problems, I increased the size of the bar code to large and shaded the shop lights from reflecting on to the barcode on the printed vinyl. I figured this out by closely watching my cutters read its marks.

    I have had good success when putting transparent tape over the marks or applying registration marks from other jobs exactly over the existing marks.

    I did pad printing in the early 90's. (Lighters, key chains, golf balls, ink pens). It was fun and profitable then. Sold it all off for $100 to hobbyists. He then traded to an automated press and banked. Haven't heard from him in 15 years.

    My Flexi 21 is doing the same thing. Weather it's sending a print file to the Roland or just a cut file to the Graftec. Happens a couple times a week.

    I take apart my used cleaning cartridges, cut a corner off the inside bag and pour the remaining 1/2 Oz of solution into a container and use it for general cleaning around the heads and caps.

    I only do about three banners a year. I buy the Grommet kit from Harbor Freight Tools. It comes with a hole punch and 25 grommets.

    I think it's called Felt. Very popular in the 90's and early 2000's. Good luck in finding it. I can't find 11x17 blue vellum bristol.

    I buy the swabs from Amazon. Buy them in a bulk pack of 300 and clean your Roland on a regular schedule, like weekly.

    I use 100' rolls. So I send approximately 30, 36" jobs to the printer when it's done printing I might add a few more depending on what's left. Or start the next roll and save the butt roll for one off's

    That looks like a little over spray. Just keep cleaning them once a week so it does not build up and destroys Your cap tops.

    That clacking noise could be your media guides hitting against the print head as it passes over them. Make sure they are flat.

    Reduce your pressure when cutting. If you are cutting into the strip you are cutting too deep.

    Offer $1600 I just bought four graftec 8600-130 cutters for 10 grand, and they are in pristine condition. These graftec cutters are almost bullet proof.

    Started out with the 60's but they burn up quick, that's why I use my old 45's from vinyl cutting. Now that I have six graftec 8600's and a 9000 I have plenty of used blades.

    I use my used 45 degree blades from my graftec 8600 cutters. Cutting mag material burns blades up quick.
