We know this by trying two aftermarket dampers on our own DX7 printers. They didn't work. We installed original. They worked fine. We never attempt to try aftermarket DX7 dampers. Most likely yes.

Does both old and new cartridge say the same thing - [c]no o cartridge? If yes, your machine has a problem. If no, the new ink cartridge has a problem. Call your ink vendor for it.
