  1. VJ1614 Vertical Banding

Does your printer have a takeup unit? The last issue you described usually occur when the takeup unit is not properly aligned to the printer, this is because the media tends to feed more on one side than the other. In my experience, vertical banding is oftentimes profile related. Using ideal...

You can temporarily remove the head lock mechanism if you believe this is the cause of the problem. If it is bent, the carriage must have hit it at some stage. Straighten it then upgrade the printer's firmware to the latest revision (Ver1.05), this version has an updated head lock solenoid...
  10. VJ1604 E071 error code

You can try this, loosen the 4 grub screws on the coupling holding the 2 shafts together, see if you can move the short shaft as required. Without personally looking at your printer, this is the only advice I can offer for now. Maybe it is about time to get a Mutoh technician to come in and...

  18. VJ1604 E071 error code

It is most likely that the short shaft driven by the motor is not perfectly aligned with the main media feed roller so that there is a tight spot on each revolution of that roller. On the old Mutoh Rockhoppers, the coupling between these 2 parts was flexible so alignment was not very critical...
