  1. This is what you do NOT want to see in the morning

I have been working on Mutoh printers for sometime, never seen this happen. O-Rings are made from rubber and the ink lines are made from plastic that is much harder than that rubber so I can't figure how that can happen.
  2. Maintenance engineer problem vj-1604 help?

On certain VJ mainboard revisions, dip switch 2 position must be changed (set to "ON" I think) before you can update firmware via the MEA or MSA programs
  3. Air in lines of 1614

The VJ-1614 has sub-tanks, ink is gravity fed to the subtanks from the main cartridges and is controlled by 2-way valves. The printhead draws its ink supply from the sub-tanks. This is one of the differences between the Valuejet printers (except the VJ-1204's and VJ-1304's) from the older Mutoh...
  4. mutoh 1304 heater problem

Most likely the Heater Relay Board Assy
  5. head-strike, cleaning and now no ink at all!

Looks like the ink is not being sucked through the prithead during the cleaning cycle. Check that there is a good seal between the cap and the printhead, also make sure the waste ink tubes are not blocked.
  6. Mutoh ValueJet 1204 InkNearEnd

You always get less prints from the first set of ink cartridges because some of the ink is used to clean then fill up the ink lines and the printhead during the initial ink load cycle.
  7. Mutoh 1204 - only half black jets printing

There is a damper for eack ink channel so there are 2 dampers for each color
  8. Mutoh 1614 not turning on

Also check that the ribbon cable connecting the control panel to the mainboard is properly inserted both ends, bad insertion of this cable is the most common cause of VJ printers not powering up all the time.
  9. Syringe and VJ1304

That valve should be sealed when the printhead is in the home position to create the seal between the printhead and the cap unit. The valve opens when the printhead moves a bit to the left during the last stage of the cleaning cycle so the pump can suck any excess ink left on the cap unit.
  10. Syringe and VJ1304

Use the ones from cap to pump
  11. how to convert from 6 to 4 color on falcon outdoor 62

Was this a DIY job or done by Mutoh authorized service agent?
  12. Gray is Green

This is the best way to go, create custom profiles for your media.
  13. Known Issue: Cyan streaking with Mutoh 1304 - HALLLP!

Try this, print the same file with no wave, (you may see horizontal banding but ignore that for now), see if vertical banding still present. If not, problem is with the profile you are using.
  14. Mutoh 1614 printer problems please help

Problem 1: Most likely air leak on that partular ink line, check damper, O-ring, make sure the bronze nuts are secure, tighten by hand only, do not use any tool as this can cause tge O-ring to deform. Problem 2: Most likely maintenance unit problem, the correct amount of ink is not being...
  15. valuejet 1604 Print Head

I would only force wash solution through a head using a syringe as a last resort before replacing it.
  16. Valujet 1604 head change

If all the nozzles are printing and you are happy with the print quality , you do not have to replace the printhead if you don't want to, just reset head the counter to get trid of the error message.
  17. mutoh vj1604 head rank number help

A new printhead should still print even without entering its head rank but you may not get the best print quality from it. Part of the head rank is the printhead's voltage offset values which controls the size and shape of the main dot and the positioning of its satellite dots.
  18. vj-1604

Possibly blown printhead fuse(s) on mainboard
  19. Media Feeds forward then pulls back

Menu Setting, Prev Stick, must be set to Off
  20. VJ1614 Vertical Banding

The 40 40 50 settings are good starting points on a room temperature of 24 degrees with around 50 % humidity. I suspect the problem lies mainly with the profile you are using because as you said, it only occurs on this media and only on certain dark colour combinations. This usually indicate...
