Damp and humid conditions cause this. We had to move premises because of the damp conditions. Also the conditions the suppliers and delivery companies store do not help. SC

Their is 8 dampers in total as their are 2 lines of CMYK. Make sure that head cable is genuine Mutoh as I have heard some of the aftermarket ones are not as good quality. SC

I reckon because of the age I would be changing the head cable and maybe the dampers. The dampers are probably the cause of your issues but due to the cable being contaminated and the age I would be changing it. SC

If I remember the cyan and yellow are on the same head. If so I can only see this as a cross contamination or a head beginning to fail. I would replace the cap and check the pump is running correctly. If this still persists I would suspect a head is going bad. SC

I'm not up to speed on the XJ540. But it runs DX4 heads. Also your test print is probably about as good as it gets for a 2 year old machine and very near perfect. I think the adjustment of the machine will be the issue. Maybe even a contaminated encoder strip or wheel. SC

I have used digiprint (in belgium) for parts for my VJ1604 and JV3-160s and they are great. Ordered a maintenance station on Monday morning and it was delivered at 10am the following day! They are in Belgium I am in the UK!!! SC
