  1. Cartridge recycling woes - Challenge: Canadian

Too late!!! Tossed 50 of them in the dumpster 2 months ago after switching to Jetbest. If your in the greater Toronto Area, may as well toss them out as our garbage is trucked for disposal in Michigan!!!
  2. Yellow shadow on prints Mimaki JV3

I have seen this on my machine the odd time..but never enough that anyone outside of me would see it. I have had issues with my yellow head for some time, but again, not enough to have to throw any $$$ at it, and I give it a nozzle wash twice a week and a good cleaning 2 or 3 times a week
  3. Shout Out To Gino

  4. JV3-160SP Banding/Splotching Problems/Color Shifting

Looks like banding...Have you done a print adjustment?
  5. does your vinyl ever behave like this?

This roll is a 3ml general formulations vinyl. I am not sure but I think the backing paper is a lot lighter than it used to be as I get this problem happening quite a bit with their films. Only in the 48" rolls mind you.. I have also had it the odd time with 3M sc50 vinyls as well...
  6. auto reduction of nodes in Signlab

    Thank you so much......
  7. auto reduction of nodes in Signlab

I remember in Signlab 5 that if I auto digitized something and I wanted to reduce the nodes, I could double click on the shape and then hit ctrl U and it would highlight every other node and you could delete them reducing the jagged effect. I don't know if it exists in Signlab 8...anyone know...
  8. Going to try to print on cast laminate...it should work...shouldn't it?

I am printing and it looks amazing. I have to slide some white paper underneath to see the color properly. very cool.
  9. Going to try to print on cast laminate...it should work...shouldn't it?

I have a sign face to replace and instead of printing a massive sheet to cover the entire face I can print, laminate and cut the different sections. It is a widely spaced sign with logos in 3 different areas plus I need to cut some black vinyl as well. I was about to order 2ml clear to print...
  10. Fair or unfair?

You were put in an awkward position. You were told the truck was the same and printed before seeing the vehicle. What alternative did you have? You could have talked it out before you started the install, but would you be willing to throw it all out if he refused to pay the extra costs...
  11. Graphtec FC4100-130 ? Got me stumped....

I have the same plotter and when we switched up to win7 I tried the USB, but we kept failing. My computer man went out and got me a serial card for the computer and she runs like a dream.
  12. How to improve OPOS accuracy on Summa D160R...

try slowing the cutter down. I have a d140 and I have cut lots of stuff without bleeds and if it is just a few logos, it generally cuts right on the line.
  13. My customers can not wrap their heads around the idea of keeping things proportionate

When people ask crap like that it really shows how low their intellect really is. If after you explain to them that it would look bad and condensed and they still don't get it...hang up:Big Laugh
  14. strange printing question

I guess it shows perfect on your screen. I only see black boxes after I unmask objects, but it is clearly visible on the screen, then I delete the black box and the copy is visible. Mind you I run Flexi and that's a whole issue into itself.
  15. I lost my best friend Tuesday......

    So sorry to hear
  16. Laptop completely dead not 2 weeks old

so basically I have brought it out of safemode. I guess that's cool, but I had turned it off the night before and everything was fine and then unplugged it from the power source, so if it got a spike it could have only come from it's own battery.
  17. Laptop completely dead not 2 weeks old

I assume they are being 2 weeks old, but maybe I need to force it to get updates...good call, will check on that....had a few flash shutdowns
  18. vinyl zapper- orange-ish marks

I had the same thing happen on a ford f150 last year. More of a slight yellow haze for me, and if memory serves it was hard to get off and I don't think we could get it all off. Mine was from removing the f150 plate on the sides and then needing to zap the heavy black rubber adhesive...
  19. A friend's/customer's experience with buying a sign franchise.

OK so which franchise was it?
  20. seem to get a lot of quotes for foamcore....Should i stock this?

I can only think it is cheap and it is somewhat rigid is why they ask for it. I personally dislike even touching it as it damages so easily. Do many of you offer it for signage and digital? Maybe I should give it another try?
