I'm not sure how NY is with electrical licensing, but you may want to check. If you aren't a Master Sign Electrician or Master Electrician and you even quote a job like that in Texas - you're looking at big problems. There have been numerous sting operations here in Texas to catch people that...
  9. Tips on installing post in concrete

Hey, I'm not the arguing type and I believe you! I've just always seen them sold and named by the manufacturers as sharp shooters so that's what I call them. My dad (ex-military) calls them Bill Dookie's because they were used for digging trenches for "dookie".

Actually, what he's showing in the photo is just perforated metal. Expanded metal has the diamond-shaped pattern due to being pressed and literally expanded.
  16. Tips on installing post in concrete

Edit: Now that I re-read your post, it sounds like you're talking about creating a hole in existing concrete to set a post into. If that's the case, the best method is to rent a core drill, drill your core, and then remove the required amount of dirt below the concrete. You can also use a rotary...
  17. Tips on installing post in concrete

If you only have a couple of holes a digging bar and sharp shooter work pretty well. Since you're dealing with clay in Charlotte, if you're digging any more than a couple of holes, you may want to look into renting a tow-behind auger from Home Depot or similar. They make digging in clay and...
  18. ugly expensive job...

That's E.I.F.S. (Exterior Insulation and Finish System), not stucco. One of the brand names is Dryvit, as Paul mentioned. E.I.F.S. is incredibly easy to install signs in, which makes this install even more horrendous.
  19. metal letter help needed

I'd use the studs you can (even if it's one per letter (or none per letter)) and use VHB 4905. The stuff is super thin and barely notceable.
