  1. Electrical Signage help

I saw it also...This is why it's harder for the people who do things right to stay in business.
  2. Electrical Signage help

After looking at it more, I think you're right about it being SignComp. Good eye. It looked like fabricated retainers initially, but I believe you're correct.
  3. Radocy Cranes

I called Radocy and they do indeed mount these to the trailers themselves. I'm still not in love with the setup, but I suppose it must serve the purpose.
  4. Exterior Routered Letter install

I would stud-mount them and put silicone around the studs to seal the holes you drill in the corrugated metal. I would also drill the holes slightly over-sized. It's difficult to push a 3/16" threaded stud through a 3/16" hole in metal. So either use the same size bit and wallow the hole...
  5. Radocy Cranes

I did research it - that's how I found both photos. But just because it's on their website mounted on that trailer doesn't mean Radocy physically mounted it on the trailer. The shop it's sitting in front of looks pretty ragged. Maybe that's Radocy's shop...but I doubt it. It could very well be a...
  6. Electrical Signage help

You would have to look at the top and bottom retainer to see if it's hinged or if they're fastened the same as the end retainer. There are numerous ways to fabricate a cabinet, so you just have to inspect it and see how they built it. But honestly, it doesn't matter. To make faces, just measure...
  7. Radocy Cranes

The crane is built by Radocy. That setup is made by someone associated with this bunch I believe. Pretty positive that's home made.
  8. Radocy Cranes

Is it supposed to be trailer-mounted? All I can picture is someone that had a trailer sitting at one end of their parking lot and a crane on a broken down truck at the other end of the parking lot and them looking back and forth between the two thinking "hmmmmmmm.....". I dunno...I don't like it.
  9. Exterior substrate

I'm not super clear on what the question is. As far as spacers, I would use pretty much any metal tubing you can find (conduit, aluminum, etc.) and just cut some 1" pieces. If the question is what material to use for your background, I would use ACM or aluminum and lay vinyl on the face.
  10. Reasonable percentage for "Finder's Fee"?

Pretty much exactly what I was thinking.
  11. 3003 Aluminum panels

3003 would be fine. 5052 is a good choice for areas near salt water.
  12. Customer Supplied Substrate Question (plastic)

Tap on it with your finger. If it sounds "metallic", it's polycarbonate (Lexan). If it sounds "dull", it's acrylic. Both sides are fine to use. It doesn't have to outgas.
  13. Laser Level?

I don't find much use for it for vinyl, but if doing wall signs in large quantities, I use it a ton. I use one of DeWalt's versions and have zero complaints. The batteries last a ridiculously long time. The first pic shows a quick way to center a sign above an object - in this case a...
  14. New Logo

People with anything beyond a 3rd grade reading level recognize groups of letters as words rather than needing to look at each individual letter to decipher a word. I knew immediately the word was "guerilla". I would guess others are able to read it with the same ease and aren't getting hung up...
  15. New Sign Going Up!

These both made me laugh...especially "won)"
  16. Is this an overlay?

    ...agreed.

Ah...wasn't you then. It's been a couple of years since I worked at that company.

  20. Please educate me on Flex Faces

Chris, Miratec doesn't fall into the "usually" category. The previous sign company I was at used Miratec occasionally and had great results. Most printers don't have that technology, so "usually" they have to resort to double-striking or 1st and 2nd surface printing (as you know)...
