  1. Transparent links are printing with a box.

Usually when transparencies do this in a file it's because the rendering intents are conflicting. A lot of RIPs default to rendering a vector and bitmap with different rendering intents. If your bitmap is above a vector background or something like that, that's probably the case. You can fix it...
  2. Roland Tech service quote $$ Are you serious?? $$

Buy the parts from us and we'll talk to you over the phone if you get stuck or have any questions. The SP series is one of the easiest machines to work on. As long as you unplug the machine and wait 5 minutes before working on it, there isn't much damage you can do that can't be reversed. Also...
  3. CJV30 160 Replaced almost everything and yellow does not print

Swap the yellow and black damper positions, run a cleaning cycle, and then print another nozzle test. This will give you more information on where the problem is. For example, if the yellow prints in the black position and the black won't print in the yellow position still, the head most likely...
  4. Need Help Versaworks 6.9 rip time

Depending on the resolution, passes, dithering method, variable dot or not, and rendering intent, different profiles will require more or less processing. Your banner profile is probably low resolution, low pass count, non-variable dot which is much faster to process.
  5. CG-160FXII - Can you download Fine Cut software?

Buy an external disc drive on Amazon for like $20.
  6. Need Help Mimaki jfx200 random color drop out.

Color drop out on the JFX200 is usually going to be a pressure issue or air in the system. I would run the pressure adjustments and make sure they are within spec. Even if they are in spec, if they are jumping around a lot, that could be a sign of a leak somewhere. Once you confirm the pressure...
  7. Mimaki CJV150 print issue

It could be a damper issue. If they haven't been changed in the last year or two I would change them just to be sure. Also, make sure your platen is nice and clean. If there's adhesive build up it can cause the vinyl to get stuck temporarily which buckles it and causes issues like this.
  8. ROLAND OR MIMAKI?

Mimaki gives dealers a choice. If you choose to be a servicing dealer, you get better pricing on the printers and you are required to be trained before selling the machine. That being said, they aren't going to avoid a sale just because the dealer isn't trained so you're correct that you should...
  9. ROLAND OR MIMAKI?

I've never met someone who liked Rasterlink lol. Although a new version is out that claims to be better. As for the cutting issues, it's usually the tech who trains you that makes the difference. A lot of them use FineCut for print/cut for some reason and I don't know why. Rasterlink will detect...
  10. Printing to magnetic Roll - Roland SP540i

Just print on vinyl and stick it to some mag. It's extra work and cost but your machine isn't really made to print and cut magnet. If you can manage to get it to score the magnet you can technically cut the material but it will kill your blade for sure. Also, and most important, if you get a...
  11. CG-160FXII Plotter - Fine Cut 9 - Why no Intermediate Marks?

That's correct. That was the last model before they added support for intermediate marks unfortunately.
  12. Discussion S40600 or HP115 for stickers?

I don't want to bash them too hard but if you read the warranty info for their machine, it's parts only and you can talk to someone over the phone. After a year they won't talk to you unless you pay up again. A Mutoh dealer who sells the machine without rebranding it is required by dealer...
  13. Discussion S40600 or HP115 for stickers?

The VJ24 has a DX7 print head and is actually a Mutoh VJ628 re-branded. It's one head generation behind the S40600 but still will print high quality stickers. Also, see if you can just find a Mutoh dealer near you. Signwarehouse is not exactly known for their stellar support. Usually a Mutoh...
  14. How do clean this Nozzle?, gaps in Test Print, and Splatter on black print.

You could try throwing new cap tops in and flushing the pump line to make sure the maintenance station is working at full capacity. Unfortunately in my opinion the Cyan/Black head looks like it's probably just old and worn out and the yellow/magenta head looks like it had a head strike. Probably...
  15. Need Help Roland VS540i Banner Profiles

You aren't going to find a 3 pass, or any other odd numbered pass count. 2 Pass would be a 360dpi profile just so you know what you're looking for. I never see 360 profiles in the pre-made ones offered by Roland for some reason but maybe someone has made one and is willing to share!
  16. Need opinion on decision to expand business to printing...

Just keep in mind that HP's have a short support lifespan compared to most solvents. Mimaki's been using the same ink for 3 generations of printers while HP cut's their customers short when a new model comes out.
  17. Mutoh 1324X leaving magenta streaks

Looks like magenta is dropping out of the head. Usually that's going to be a bad damper. If you haven't changed then in the last 12 to 18 months, I'd start there. Also just make sure the bottom of the head is clean, the wiper is make good contact with the head surface, and the cap top is...
  18. What printed this?

Yes Epson based machines will have better quality than the HP Latex. Your Roland printers also use older Epson heads which is why you see them getting closer to what you want. The newest Epsons have the TFP heads which have even smaller dots and better accuracy.
  19. PDF output setting for CorelDraw ??

Make sure you're running Versaworks in administrator mode!
  20. sourcing parts for M64s

Mimaki now services these machines. I'd give them a call to see if they can recommend a dealer. I could probably order parts for you but we can't offer support as we are not trained on those machines.
