  1. Mutoh VJ1204 Print problem missing half black

I don't have a picture off hand but it's a little rubber ring that seals the gap between the ink line and the nut that attaches the ink line and damper. When you take the nut off the damper you can push the nut up the ink line and it will expose the o-ring. They tend to flatten out and cause air...
  2. 1304 printing issue after head soak

I would change the dampers out along with the o-rings as it's been 2 years, it's over due. I bet with a fresh set of dampers you could get it going.
  3. Mutoh VJ1204 Print problem missing half black

Usually when only 1 channel fails on that model, it's a bad damper or a broken manifold. When you changed the dampers did you also change the o-rings? If not, I would start there. Also, inspect the nipple where the damper connects to the head and make sure it's not cracked or damaged in any way...
  4. Printing fine print for labels

For text that small you're basically out of spec for the machine but the best way to go is high res low speed. Find a profile with a 1440x1440 resolution, unidirectional, slowest motor speed and variable dot. Then orient the print so that the height of the letters are parallel with the movement...
  5. Mimaki CJV 150-75 HeadStrike?

Check the bottom of the head for damage. Usually if missing nozzles are being caused by a head strike you can see the scratches on the head. If the head looks undamaged, make sure your wiper is nice and flat and not bloated. If it's leaving ink on the head after cleaning it will cause issues...
  6. Sending LARGE files (weTransfer)

I use it all the time. It's free up to 2GB and super easy to use. If you want to be 100% safe don't click the link but highlight it and copy/paste it into the browser.
  7. Dropping way to much ink

Have you tried multiple profiles? Does it happen on all media as well? Usually too much ink is either a mismatched profile or a media/environment issue.
  8. mutoh 1204 ink problems

The cartridge sensor is probably broken or just bent out of place. Look in each cartridge holder with a flashlight and see if you can see any differences. The cartridge sensor is a tiny little button at the very back of the holder.
  9. PRINTER PRINTS SLOW AND MAKES STOPS

As stated above it's usually the network having an issue but it could also be a computer issue. If your RIP has the option to RIP while printing and you are using that function, if the computer can't RIP the file fast enough, you will get this issue.
  10. Need Help Mutoh 1638x - random disconnection from network

I agree with MikePro. The Mutoh only supports static IP so my guess would be the router is handing out IP addresses and the Mutoh doesn't have one reserved in the router so it may be giving out the Mutoh's IP to other machines which would cause issues like this.
  11. Need Help Mimaki JFX200

Here is a link to the EX model profiles. Make sure to choose the right ink type!
  12. Need Help Mimaki JFX200

When you installed Rasterlink did you also install any profiles?
  13. Need Help Having to rebuild my Mutoh 1638x...

When you did the long store cycle did any ink move through the system? Did you try flushing the heads manually yet?
  14. SP 540V

I simply take the y connector out that connects the two cap tops to the pump and then hook a syringe up to the pump tube and push solution through. It should go right through to the waste tank. If it flushes out real easy that's always good. If it feels like it's resisting, usually I fill the...
  15. SP 540V

When was the last time you changed your cap tops? I would change them if they are over a year old and while you're in there flush the pump tubes and make sure one side isn't clogged on the y connector.
  16. Faithful Mimaki Strikes again

Working from home the last few weeks and this is my only outlet lol! I would check to see if there is any air in the ink lines and if there is, there could be air getting in somewhere and that would cause drop out. It's also possible that the little claw part that the damper connects to is...
  17. Faithful Mimaki Strikes again

The pictures aren't showing on my end. How old are the dampers, cap top, and pump?
  18. Aged UV ink

UV ink has the shortest shelf life of most inks. 1 year from manufacture is usually all you get. I have had customers use year expired solvent ink but the UV ink isn't so forgiving.
  19. Printer service call labor costs vs. doing the work yourself

As someone who make s living off selling parts to people for DIY printer repairs, I can tell you that most people work on their machines at least a little. I have some customers who do all of their own repairs, some who do the easy stuff and leave the hard stuff to the techs, and I would say...
  20. Need Help Roland SP300v Printer is faulting out "setup sheet" & "Cancelling during printing"

There is a little sensor inside a hole in the platen. That sensor tells the machine if vinyl is loaded or not. If it sees light, it thinks nothing is loaded. It may pass the test in service mode but that doesn't mean it's working properly all the time. As you've seen it just cuts out once in a...
