  1. Cjv auto clean settings

Those are the defaults and they work well without using a lot of ink. If the machine sits for long periods of time like multiple days in a row you might want to turn cleanings on to 12 hours.
  2. Sales tax question

A lot of states have sales tax exemptions on manufacturing equipment. Makes sense. The more machines producing theoretically would mean more tax revenue in the future.
  3. Flushing 3rd party ink out on my system

Unfortunately I haven't done it on that model but it should be in the tech manual. I might have it in my collection. I'll take a look and let you know. Thanks!
  4. VP-540 Magenta "text print" blocks all over the place

This is an electrical short. Either a cable is not plugged in properly, is damaged, is dirty, and/or the head is damaged electronically or dirty. I've seen it so many times in my career I have no doubt that is what is going on. Usually I start by changing the head cables and clean the terminals...
  5. Flushing 3rd party ink out on my system

A head wash like Joe House mentioned is the only way to be 100% sure. If you don't, any time you have issues you will wonder, should I have flushed?
  6. Sales tax question

Here in Colorado if I sell ink to a sign shop it's not taxable as the ink ends up in the end product that my customer is selling. If I sell them parts for their printer, they make us tax them as they don't end up in the final product. Also At least here in Colorado, that doesn't fly. If your...
  7. Question Help please... I reset my 1324...

Other than the head alignments and sensor adjustment, any presets you had saved in the Media Type menu will be gone as well. Things like heater settings, print feed etc. Most people let their RIP handle those settings though. I'm heading out for the day due to some nasty snow so if I don't...
  8. Discussion Looking to buy a flatbed uv printer

As most have said here, the JFX200 is a great machine. As far as service goes, ask your dealer two questions. 1. Do you have a Mimaki certified tech who is specifically trained on the JFX on staff? 2. How many units do you have in the field? If the answer to number 1 is yes, you are in good...
  9. Question Help please... I reset my 1324...

It is indeed. Usually you can skip the uni-directional ones and go straight to the bi-directional.
  10. Question Help please... I reset my 1324...

Power on the machine while holding the up, right, and down keys. Once it boots, go to the adjustment menu. In that menu look for, "Check 4: Rear/Edge sen." and enter. From there follow the prompts on the screen. It will automatically adjust the rear and edge sensor but you have to load and...
  11. Need Help cjv-30 test printing problems in germany please help us friends!

That scratch killed the head unfortunately. Only way to fix it is to put a new one in. Those scratches usually come from head strikes on either media or the media clamps. That or someone left a screw on the platen after working on the machine and it rolled over it.
  12. Why are my prints so grainy?

I would check your head alignments and fine tune them. Looks like you are getting some slight banding which could be the feed calibration as well. The nozzle check looks pretty good but the cyan is deflecting a little which could be causing some issues. You also have a little cross contamination...
  13. New UV Light UJF-3042

That part number doesn't show up in my Mimaki price list either but they are being more stingy with these new UV machines. They won't send me pricing unless I get officially trained on them. I don't usually do this but, there may be one available in another country for cheaper if you google the...
  14. Mutoh 1614 streaks in magenta

In that case unfortunately it's probably a failing head. I generally see 3 to 5 years when using solvent inks. Anything over 5 is a good run. You could try replacing the head cables as there may be an electrical issue going on but that would be my last ditch solution. We have those heads in...
  15. Cost of Ink per job?

General rule of thumb for solvent inks is about $0.30 per square foot on the high end.
  16. Need Help cjv-30 test printing problems in germany please help us friends!

Also check the bottom of the head for any physical damage. Usually when such a straight line of nozzles is missing it can be a nasty head strike. In that case you will need a new head.
  17. Mimaki JV5 users

You are a brave man. Good luck!
  18. Mimaki JV33-260: mtr.alm y:cnt.over

You might just need to clean and grease the rail. Also, make sure your encoder strip is clean as well. At the end of the day it could be the motor though.
  19. Mutoh 1614 streaks in magenta

Unfortunately whenever I see a perfect nozzle check but there are still streaks in the actual prints it's a failing print head. Looks like your magenta is the problem for sure. How old is the head?
  20. Power Cable for SOLJET Pro 4 XR-640

It's a standard computer power cable. Here is a 15 footer on Amazon.
