  2. VP 540 service call 0103

i think this video will tell you what you need to fix it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooUcP0QfeaU Is Chris W. who you use for a tech? I didn't realize you aren't that far from me.
  3. Need advice on install

I think we order it by the roll from "The Cowboy" or Grimco. Auto parts stores and places like ACE sell it I assume, probably even WallyWorld has it in the tape or automotive section.
  4. Need advice on install

Yes, but I'd add one in the dead center also just for a bit of extra to be sure it doesn't bulge out. Countersink your screw heads. If they ever want to change the sign or remove it piano wire or fishing line will get it off the VHB.
  5. Need advice on install

Get a few drops/scraps of polymetal from around your shop and screw those to the wall. Apply VHB to those strips and then stick your sign face to that. (make sure it's level!) The VHB will be fine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TvKRRgrrgOA
  6. Interesting project

doesn't look like hand lettering work to me at all either...
  7. Anyone have a PMS color chart with pms number and 'c' for coated?

FWIW, the U/C at the end refers to the material that you are printing the spot color on (Coated/Uncoated) so printing the "C" color chart on matte (uncoated) is kinda incorrect. The ink color is the same whether the material is different, it is just showing how it lays on / sinks into the material.
  8. Anyone have a PMS color chart with pms number and 'c' for coated?

Here is the one we print on all of our materials.
  9. ISO Composer

I am looking for a copy of GSP composer (print & cut). 4.0 preferrably, but beggers can't be choosers!
  10. Can't Find It Script

    Any ideas guys? (and gals)
  11. What the #×%+@ did they do to Sign Gold?

Not sure, our 3M rep brought us a sample of "Real Gold" by a couple weeks ago and it DID have a 3M 220 paper carrier on the back of it. However, we usually buy direct from SignGold and all of our rolls still have the nice plastic liner... The mystery deepens?
  12. Looking for vehicle wrap for client near Farmington Il

One of our subcontractors doesn't mind to travel for installs, in fact he has spent the entire week up in Columbus, Ohio for us this week: Matt Cummins, Big Gun Graphics 859-250-4080
  13. Leo's Smart Gold

Leo's Smart Gold is made with Brass and it DOES change over time. I have seen it turn green on a lot of trucks myself.
  14. What the #×%+@ did they do to Sign Gold?

Be sure that you ordered & received the correct version of the product. We use a lot of Real Gold here, and occasionally they send us a "cut only" roll instead of the regular material. Those rolls are a LOT thicker.
  15. Familiar Script...

Thanks Fred! I knew it was one of the fonts I used to have installed that had multiple fonts of the same name (freehand 471/521/575), but couldn't find it!
  16. Best vector download site?

Most of the time I have been able to use just Google search and they come up. Just type in "whatever free vector download". If you can't find it free it always seems so custom that I might as well start drawing it myself.
  17. Treated 4x4 with post sleeves

You have to bury your posts per local code below the frost line (usually 36" around here) in cement. Then you have a few inches still underground w/o cement on them that you can sleeve to hide the sleeve end. There are caps also to make the tops look nice.
  18. Familiar Script...

I know that I used to have it installed.... now I don't and can't find it.
  19. Onyx 11 Cutting Problem

The other day our front Mimaki plotter/Onyx started acting up. When you send a cut file from the Cut-Server in Onyx11 it sends it to the plotter using the "default" setting for the Tool setting on the plotter. For example, if I change the pressure up to 140 from the default of 80 and save the...
  20. Vinyl Cutter/Plotter

We have a new 48" Summa plotter here and also two larger Mimaki plotters. They are great for larger jobs, and yes they can do smaller intricate work also. However, for the smaller intricate jobs we still use the Gerber HS15+ plotters. We do a LOT of jobs with very small text for a few clients...
