  1. Gerber EnVision Cable Help

Get the Gerber cable. It is the only one that works reliably every time.
  2. Mimaki JV3-160sp - printing issues

You're gonna have to look under a loope and see what color is dropping out. And then go from there checking/replacing. I don't know how to check, as we've never had this problem here.
  3. what is this material? thermal?

It "may" have started out its life as "hyper plaid vinyl"? http://www.topvinylfilms.com/holographic-vinyl/hyperplaid-holographic-adhesive-vinyl/
  4. what is this material? thermal?

It looks like a thermal print on a "special effects" film. However, I have never seen that particular film myself. The closest film that I can think of is Avery Kaleidoscope or Confetti film. it may be a material that is no longer available.
  5. Mimaki JV3-160sp - printing issues

I would say there is a leak in your ink system, in the lines or in the dampers.
  6. Work Order / Job Flow Software or Process, what do you do?

Our system has a dynamic calendar; that is one of the most important parts to me. As anyone at any time can change the schedule and it updates for everyone else immediately. Everything else is stored in the job details (click on the calendar entries for the full info). All costs are added to the...
  7. Work Order / Job Flow Software or Process, what do you do?

Pat, on those little notes that are in your head on those jobs; most of those details can be put directly into the artwork file. On funky Edge jobs I put it in the composer file and on funky large format jobs I put the notes right alongside the printed art. On funky overall jobs, I try to put...
  8. Silver print on white reflective?

I would also recommend a screen of a gray. We don't use ZeroNine foils here, so I am of no help on them.
  9. Who to blame?

You used the correct vinyl requested. That point you are correct on. If they wanted a "high tack" vinyl instead of "high performance" vinyl then they should have specified 225 vinyl. Then you would have know to buy the correct material in wider rolls with the plastic release liner. Walls are...
  10. Work Order / Job Flow Software or Process, what do you do?

Trello is free and worked when I had a smaller shop. We have a completely software here now, I can't see how forcing your business into a 'set' software will work for most people unless you are just starting out. Online (access anywhere) and calendar functionality are the most important parts...
  11. Looking for a burnt orange vinyl

The 3M 1080 Series has a real nice orange close to that. (It may be a bit lighter than you're looking for, but maybe not) We wrap snow plow trucks with it...
  12. Help with making these decals

see attachment. ALSO: DO NOT WEED OFF YOUR REGISTRATION MARK!!!
  13. Source for Bail Arm Springs?

I need a couple new springs for the bail arms on one of the HS15+ plotters here. Does anyone know where to buy just the springs?
  14. Suggestions for a 14" wide job...

We just did this the other day for a print that HAD to match an existing one (wrecked one door). It works "ok", but in this case I would go with a solvent print on clear overlay.
  15. Suggestions for a 14" wide job...

Our Mimaki JV3 printers will print a rich black that light cannot penetrate just fine. Use a double-strike or increase the saturation in the rip to achieve your desired results. Oh, by the way; print this on clear. Laminate it and laminate that onto the gold or install it as an overlay on the...
  16. Top Trade Shows for 3D

It is a MESS out there in the 3D world right now. Everybody is scrambling as innovations are happening daily. I would look into the molding/forming industry shows or contact the bigger manufacturers and see what shows they recommend.
  17. "Carriages are Disconnected" Error on SP-540V

When I used to run a Roland I bought my parts from Nazdar and the encoder strips were around $115 IIRC.
  18. "Carriages are Disconnected" Error on SP-540V

Clean the strip again, or flip the strip or replace the strip.
  19. Heat setting

I have never heard of that material, can you link a spec sheet or more info?
  20. Onyx shrinking prints when sending a print/cut file

I have found that if I am que-ing up a lot of jobs for later printing and I rip them for 54" material, and then rip other jobs for printing on 48" material and change my material size and print those other jobs first, it SOMETIMES messes up the widths of the earlier ripped jobs (resizing them to...
