There is phototex-S for solvent printers and the phototex-aqueous for aqueous and latex printers.
There is also phototex-O-aqueous that is opaque and useable for aqueous/latex printers.
There is currently no opaque version that will work for solvent printers.
Phototex is actually made in the...
yes, it is possible - they did them here for years with our edge before they bought the solvent printers. I would recommend using 3m 180c (fellers sells 15" punched) if you go this route, however I would also recommend subbing this job out.
Wraps are graphics that are using advanced "comply" materials that confirm to the curvature of the object. A tailgate wrap is a wrap as it wraps the entire tailgate.
Large print/cut graphics on a tailgate are not wraps.
Attached is a (bad) photo of a tailgate wrap.
the ink issue: you should be laminating your prints.
the cut marks issue: you are loading the material crooked, find an easy way to verify it is loaded straight.
I would like to recommend a very close friend's business for this service: gorillabackups.com
He has been a data recovery specialist and computer forensics investigator for MANY years, and started his own off-sitebackup program a few years back.
Sure, you can get cheaper, but if you ever need...
Balls to the walls here too. We've added more installers this past week, and we're still booking 2-3 weeks out!
The "new jobs" stack is buried under and proofs are like 1 week lead time... Every machine seems to be running all day every day (and night!).
It would be pretty darn hard to use an existing plotter/rip convert into a laser. There is just so much proprietary firmware, etc that isn't public knowledge of how to control it.
You are going to be better off with a laser cutter running on a flatbed surface. you could probably canibilize a...
I use this company every week for oversize banners we can't print in-house: http://www.signs101.com/forums/member.php?49948-GCI-DIGITAL-IMAGING
Great prices! (so low you'll wonder why you still turn your printer on...)
They used to be a merchant member here, not sure if they are still? I can't...
The only thing that we have really been able to recycle successfully are our plastic roll shipping caps/stands. (the little plastic squares with plugs for core ends)
A local school is taking them for recycling into plastic benches. Their program was originally targeted to get milk caps as they...
X2 on the laminator if you have enough room in your shop to do it. Once you learn to mount using a laminator you'll wonder what took you so long to try it! PERFECT mounting every time, just peel an inch and hand mount that and then run it through the laminator.
I would use a standard Helvetica font and manually distort the G (and O) after adjusting the arch.
Some MFG's have their own fonts and you just can't get them.
