  1. Current Cheapest JV3 160s Heads?

Just picked up another JV3 the other day, but it needs a couple new heads. Where is selling them for the best price nowadays? The JV3 is the 6-color, 3-headed beast.
  2. custom printed fence slats: how to do them?

I would also suggest thin pvc sheets and then rip them. I would suggest printing a very small part number at the top or bottom of every piece. I would think otherwise getting them out of order might be a nightmare.
  3. Anyone close to Texas City, Texas?

I need a bit of local help. Trying to purchase something on craigslist and the seller doesn't want to ship. I will pay and send a UPS call tag, but the seller isn't interested in boxing them up for shipping... and I am up in Kentucky. Anyone that is interested in lending me a hand?
  4. printing red/burgundy gradient on Roland SP540 from FlexiSign Pro

While I can't remember all of what you have to do in the output mananger I would recommend this as a possible gradient transition CMYK code. 0/100/100/0 to 50/100/100/25. When designing gradients, try to keep a "constant" in there to avoid the "weird middle areas" of some gradients. Keeping...
  5. WRAPSCON in Indianapolis next week - Anyone going?

Our local sales rep said that for a sign / vehicle graphics company there will be nothing new there. The show is still geared towards promotional items/products and unless we are interested in getting into that industry there's no reason to go. However, I might still try to make it over Friday...
  6. Refinishing fake stone signs

At first thought - I would use filler to fill the holes, then tape it off and use the "faux stone" spray paint around the edges. But, this isn't my usual cup of tea.
  7. WRAPSCON in Indianapolis next week - Anyone going?

wrappermapper.com was just blocked by my TrendMicro AntiVirus. Any idea why?
  8. Signmaker IVb: Error Message 14

If it can't find home then possibly the "home" sensor is going bad or dusty. I have had to replace the home sensor on a gerber 375 plotter in the past.
  9. Reel pro with edge fx

How much are you printing that you really need "unattended". We routinely do LONG Edge runs and even a 50yd run should only take a little bit. It's not like putting a 50yd roll on a wide format printer and letting it run overnight. I would recommend making a couple of nice catch baskets for...
  10. Wrap help

While I don't have an answer to your current dilemma, I have another suggestion for you: If you get this order, use the profits to purchase a subscription service to PVO. It will give you a permanent copy of the DVD of ALL vehicle templates and access to any new templates for a year. Also...
  11. Thoughts on this design

You can't really read it at all, even the word police is hard to read. It is also all scrunched up close together in that one area, leaving the rest of the side "empty". I would go with a secondary color/stroke of white to outline the letters with, and lose the arches(?) along the top.
  12. printed material sticking on the takeup

Are you SURE that none of the manufacturers sell a vinyl that is close enough in color for the customer to be happy? Many of the solid color wrapping vinyls have new colors out this year. With that much material and potential problems I would try to steer them in that direction. If the...
  13. Gerber Envision cutting poorly on long runs

Not sure how many are in your office, but double-check your blade under a loupe, it may have been dropped by a co-worker.
  14. vinyl printing issues on Epson GS 6000

Some vinyls print better or worse with certain printers. Try printing the same file on another manufacturer's material. Most suppliers can get you sample rolls to test different products with your printer. For some reason MacTac looks the best/smoothest on our Mimakis here, but we primarily...
  15. Installing U-Channel posts in asphalt, suggestions?

Pneumatic post hole driver. They are ran by a (large) portable air compressor/trailer. Your local tool rental store should have them both available. It should take about 5 minutes per pole once you get it figured out. Still be sure to "Call before you dig" when carrying out this job, you never...
  16. Latex Printable Foldable Map Material/ Tyvek?

Sihl has some interesting materials, but I know nothing about how they print on latex. Possibly their wet strength poster paper 3196? or their 3629 polypropylene film?
  17. Latex Printable Foldable Map Material/ Tyvek?

possibly a no-curl banner material? or a flag type of material?
  18. Thousands of tiny bubbles in a trailer wrap?

Sounds like the paint is off-gassing, I bet the trailer was just painted the day before you got it. The attachment shows what happens when you put vinyl on the day after painting a truck. Post pics of the problem!
  19. New Phototex?

Well it certainly prints like crap on Mimaki JV3 printers.
  20. New Phototex?

    actual printing experience.
