  1. Lighted Pan Face Help, Please

My suggestion (how I do it): 1 - Measure the pans & make a template 2 - Draw up proof 3 - Call up Hendricks Vacuum Forming and have them quote 4 - send approved artwork to Hendricks 5 - Install new pans 6 - profit
  2. Latest edge lit project...

Care to make a tutorial on how to do this? I've never tried edge lighting and this looks like a great new product to sell!
  3. Gerber Edge Cleaning?

I usually clean with the gerber cleaning wipes which are saturated with 99% ISO Alcohol. However I was going to be doing some DEEP cleaning this weekend and wanted to grab some extra alcohol to use the same swab a couple times to clear up some dead pixels. So, would it be better to stick with...
  4. 3" chevron 3m?

Are you looking for 3" diamond grade 3m striping? I don't think they make it. NFPA regulations state 6" striping if you aren't familiar with NFPA regulations go look them up. We use a lot of Reflexite (Oracal) striping and the guys here like cutting/installing it a whole lot better than the...
  5. Getting the most out of an Edge 2/Envision

The only real difference I have seen between the two modes is usually that the 300x600 prints darker. Sometimes this is good, but other times it isn't. Otherwise, the new setup should be a bit more dependable but don't retire your old printer/plotter just yet - here one printer prints better and...
  6. Ever seen this church art?

    Awesome, that'll do!
  7. Ever seen this church art?

Working on a sign for a (small) church, and can't say I've ever seen this artwork before. Yet, I am hard pressed to believe that it wasn't borrowed from somewhere else. (it is just paired with some Papyrus script) Anyone here ever seen it or anything close? A Google image search turns up nothing.
  8. Specks in solid print on reflective

Bad roll, we get one every 6 months or so. Sometimes it will run fine on our Edge 1, but the Edge LE always shows the speckles if the roll is bad. I have never tried heating it up to run it, and the supplier always takes it back for us and replaces it.
  9. Vector Logo Locating

I know this is an old thread, but just thought I would share my preferred new method of extracting art from a password protected PDF file. FoxIT PDF reader is free and will open a password protected PDF and allow you to print it to another PDF file (which isn't password protected). You can then...
  10. Increasing business

Try getting into some of the local business networking groups. Join the Chamber of Commerce, join your local BNI group. Seriously, even through it seems like a decent chunk of up-front change and a large time investment; once they get to know and trust you the referrals will start pouring in...
  11. Good Source for Fire Dept Crest Vectors?

I would be willing to bet that their Maltese cross is either very standard or very unique. if it is just standard clip-art then you might find it, but it seems that it is pretty much one extreme or the other with FD graphics.
  12. Anyone else been extorted?

It is more of a virus that hacks the whole network. They send you a VERY realistic looking email or you click on a link somewhere that looks legit and that's all it takes. It encrypts EVERYTHING on your network, even most backups. Step 1 is to shut everything down to stop the spread further. Any...
  13. Anyone else been extorted?

We got that virus here, but our tech/backup company saved our butts. If you don't have a current company you're working with, try giving them a call for help. Glenn Warner @ ACSDR.com 859-816-2666 By the way, there is NO chance that they're going to un-encrypt the files once they have your money.
  14. In need of 3M 680 Blue reflective

The 3M 680 is worth every penny IMHO. I have worked with all of it before and I love, love, love the 3m reflective. We usually only buy 680 in white 48" rolls though for larger prints. Anything smaller like 15"x1yd we buy rolls of 280, and we go through I would say 2 rolls a week of blue/light...
  15. Truck tool box

Spare torch tank, squeegees, extra olfa blades, extra scraper blades, paper towels. Pretty much anything that you have in your daily install kit (besides the expensive 3m tools, lol) I would put a duplicate of in there.
  16. Any Freelance Wrap Designers?

(skipping the other portion of the discussion for obvious reasons) I would recommend doing exactly what the OP is doing here; reaching out to a network of professionals in the industry for an independent designer. I do this type of work myself, hence why I repleted above. Having a competent...
  17. Problem with 3M vinyl

We do get an occasional bad roll here too, but I would assume that once you started weeding it that you wouldn't have continued if the roll/cut was bad.
  18. Any Freelance Wrap Designers?

While I hate 99designs and crowd-sourcing artwork I could possibly see how there is a market for that from the purchasers' prospective. And with bad economies around the world people will do anything to compete to make a few bucks. I have had a few customers decide not to pay me for logo design...
  19. lets play...who's fault is it

#1 - Paint should NOT be coming up with silicone or the wrap unless it was either painted RIGHT before they applied the silicone or even afterwards (???). This is the manufacturer's problem. #2 - Silicone can (and in a lot of case should) be removed and reapplied when a wrap is installed and/or...
  20. JV3-160 Printing 4 Coloured lines through the length of the Print

Replace your capping station screws with recess-mount screws. They are damaging your print heads; your black head is already ruined. I cannot see much in the sample print photo besides banding caused by the missing nozzles, so I assume that is what you are referring to.
