What do you think about 1/4" expanded PVC? That is our other idea. I agree about putting the best sign out there. That's the reason we are starting this project. The old sign did as well for about 7 years but definitely needs to be updated.

It does come out of the frame but the print is essentially baked onto the substrate and the back side has little, for lack of a better word, growths like the metal became corroded or something. Not very smooth anymore. The frame is well built and in great shape but the substrate not so much.

Thanks Gino! This is our own sign in front of our building so the only people we can disappoint is ourselves. We do want it to last fairly long however. Is it the tape or the coro that is not going to last long?

Try hitting end to back out of the heater mode and see if an error code is popping up.

It's a setting in the menus. I can't remember what it's called on Rolands but on other printers it's usually called clean during print or something similar. Just turn it off and it should do the trick.

Sounds like you popped the head fuse. Not sure where it is on that model but I can pretty much guarantee that's what happened.

Make sure the vacuum is turned all the way up and use the media guides. If you don't have media guides on your machine, look into getting some. Most printers come with them already installed but I have seen some that don't. The guides hold the edges down for you.

Check the bottom of the head for damage and/or debris. You might have had a head strike that damaged the head. Other than that you can swap the black and cyan dampers and run a cleaning. If the cyan comes through the black channel fine and the black does the same thing the cyan is doing, it has...

Check your head cables for damage or debris. You gotta figure out what's blowing the fuses before replacing them or they will just continue to pop.

The simple truth of it is, boxed profiles almost always won't print good grays. Custom profiles for your printer, media and environment will.

I'm not 100% sure if they are still doing it but a lot of my customers have upgraded to Rasterlink 6 for free. You deactivate your Rasterlink 5 and then download 6. Enter your 5 password when it asks and it should allow you to use 6. Keep in mind that the password for 5 was longer than 6 so just...
