  1. What kinda paint..........................??

I think Kilz would work or maybe Chromatic Universal Primer. Tint it to make it easier to cover.
  2. Paper printer

A refurbed hpz6100 or 6200 would fit the bill. Very reliable machines and lots of media available for them.
  3. Need 16 oz banner, Feller's does not offer anymore.

I use this guy. lordbyroninc@att.net 203-287-9881 He still fabricates sewn banners with webbing, reenforced corners etc in whatever stock colors are still available
  4. sign face question

Maybe I'm misunderstanding, but if the face is 1/4" smaller all the way around that means the face is cut .5" shorter. Doesn't the face sit on the bottom of the frame? So the 1/4" may be distributed evenly on the sides but on the top its 1/2"(unless you're using a hanger bar)
  5. Logo I designed for logging truck

    Pretty cool
  6. How do you make this oversized pattern

Layout the letters on coro panels, butting the panels together and temporarily tape them together. Put line up marks where the panels butt. Make your stud marks and break the panels down. On site start on the left and work your way across one panel at a time.

So learn how to weld and powder coat, then you'll be a complete sign company.

  9. Who makes these and where do I find them???

  10. Substrate Ideas for Hanging Sign

I'd use 3/4" MDO and sign hangers. And write in the proposal and invoice that the client is responsible for the install. A swinging sign should be heavy enough to not whip around in the wind. And should be installed without check chains. They only create problems by wracking the sign in the wind.
  11. Rigid Sign Holders

I got some really nice ones from Test-Rite, but quite a few suppliers have them
  12. So a guy brought me some Oracal 651 to wrap his car....

I'm not worried about my reputation, but I hate losing money/wasting time. Installing someone elses crap graphics can only lead to problems. We will install corporate graphics kits for clients, but that's a whole different animal.
  13. No longer offering Font finds

This is like the unhappy poster who loudly that "we're a bunch of jerks and I will never darken you door again". Just ignore the posts that you don't want to be involved in. I for one love the font id, and I too only use it as a back up to my search. I've only stumped the committee once.
  14. help please, what mormon font is this?

hopefully you will properly kern and weld the fonts unlike the sample
  15. Sandblasted Wood Sign

I believe Hanson uses Cedar or Redwood both of which can be harvested sustainably. There are several websites which confirm this. Also if you want a natural background it's hard to imitate real wood, especially for something viewed up close.
  16. Sandblasted Wood Sign

I've used Hanson in New York state. Got the job completely finished to spec. http://www.hansonsign.com/
  17. Stand Offs That Fasten From The Back Of Letters?

Those MBS snap standoffs look nice.
  18. Boat pinstriping, 2 colors, ready for application, 25 feet.

I too use the Edge, but I also suggest they use two colors of vinyl because it lasts longer. I won't line them up though. I give them a little lesson in using masking/painters tape to make the space and then align the second stripe to that. If they don't want to do that, or pay me, then I'll...
  19. Subbing out jobs - Do you ever let the client know?

We , too, have a lot of customers who have last minute changes for a variety of reasons. If I am subbing the work I just let them know the timeline and that because of the materials involved I can't make any last minute changes.
  20. Old chainsaw decal font

Looks like it's a trace or buy the decal....
