  1. Wrong color in mimaki jv3-160sp test draw

What's the head configuration on the 160? Four heads with nozzles split between colours on each head? Had a JV4 with the same issue, and it ended up being a broken cartridge assembly. The fissure caused a negative pressure that acted like a syphon, pulling up ink from the adjacent nozzles...
  2. DX4 Printheads

Sell that thing! If you're not using it, get rid of it and use the cash to finance another purchase in the future, especially while there's still demand for the JV33. Pardon my being a :thread
  3. Need Help JV3-250sp Overspray and Nozzles Missaligned, Droplets..

You might need to open up your media comp juuuuust a little, but that banding patttern is consistent with the deflected nozzles you're getting in the test pattern. You'll either have to live with it, or switch out/recover your heads. As for the overspray, have you tried printing at a different...

Fire? I thought it just knocked power out.
  5. Somebody's insurance company is laughing right now...

Just this morning in Ottawa: https://twitter.com/CBCOttawa/status/408563243758526464
  6. Who designed this?

Enh. They used to say the same thing about poets in the fifties. I say let 'em be. Just kids figuring themselves out. Least they have the scruples to know lazy design like this.
  7. Need Help JV3-250sp Overspray and Nozzles Missaligned, Droplets..

If you've flushed the cyan lines and soaked it that well, there's a good chance that head is borked. As for the overspray, it could be a voltage issue (doubt it, as it was working before), or the encoder scale/sensor is dirty. It could be other things, but those are the best places to start.
  8. Who designed this?

Weird that nobody has pointed out this is a straight rip from Old Navy's marketing. Earlier posts were right about this trying to target hipsters. Issue is though, most indie kids know when they're being pandered to by giant corporations. Edit: Also, why would a pharmacy want to target indie...
  9. Hello From Ottawa

Welcome, from just down the road!
  10. JV3 pump connections what goes where?

Does this help at all? Don't mind the mess, as I just had a line explode on me. If the gate on the right of my photo is front facing on your machine, the rollers always go counter-clockwise when the pump is pulling ink. Lines coming from the top of the image are coming from the heads, of...
  11. Welcome to the future

I don't understand why such a boring meme comes up two or three times a year. In the movie, he travels to 2015.
  12. JV3 banding / dropout / starvation with no visible cause?

Already did a data swap, and the problem stayed with the Magenta head. Can't be air, o-rings, or dampers either, as I swapped the dampers as well, and the problem stayed put. Also, yep, changed print head. Encoder strip and sensor was one of the first things I checked and cleaned too. Edit...
  13. JV3 banding / dropout / starvation with no visible cause?

:iamwithstupid Right. Wrong setting set to pull data from the printer. Either way, null result. Pulled params from working printer, pushed them to the borked one, no change. Set my params back, then decided to swap the slider boards. No change. I'm left with only the I/O board, and the...
  14. JV3 banding / dropout / starvation with no visible cause?

No luck so far, but with everything I've done, it can't be an ink, head, line, damper, or o-ring issue, so it's either software or hardware. In the interest of not ripping out the main board, I tried to do a parameter swap with our other JV3, but I keep getting errors when trying to pull...
  15. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

Me too! For a while I had honestly believed that they outsourced their production to China. It was the only thing I could think of that would explain the complete 180 they pulled. I understand if someone messed up one thing here or there, but a new inconsistent formula, shoddy shipping...
  16. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

We've been through so many samples, I honestly couldn't tell you. I know we tried a few from Spicers, so it's possible. But it's worth another look. I see that they don't have anything with stay-flat properties in 98" wide, which may be why we didn't go with them.
  17. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

Yeah, he offered a while ago, and we kept following other leads, but I think I'll PM him now.
  18. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

I am. It's from Italy, and there are main branches, used for a variety of purposes. The first is a mid-weight banner material, and the second is a light-weight, supposed double-sided, display material. Both are among the most expensive media you will ever find. Believe me, we've been...
  19. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

I agree, but our needs are veeeeeery particular. No curl has to mean absolutely no curl. We produce multi-panel tradeshow displays and media backdrops. If the seams curl up even an eighth of an inch, it looks like garbage. There are a few media options that I would've settled with, but my...
  20. Sick to death of Ferrari's BS

Ferrari either needs to drop the prices of their insanely high cost material, or fire the lot of their management, because a premium product this is not. We've been through headache after headache with both Decolit and 456 for over three years now. Random lots smell like either ammonia, or...
