  1. Laminating prints onto correx

No, they would require me to be able to print 2000x2400. The units are wanting to move around 6-10 different venues over a 12 month period. So, each unit needs to be flatpackable. It's for a touring ballet company.
  2. Boots on the ground marketing?

Luxury business cards are strictly for psychopaths and their coke snorting associates
  3. Laminating prints onto correx

Client is interested, despite obscene quote (this is not my regular area of production, so went with 2.5x material costs). Does this make sense for production design (they'll be providing the artwork). Rough calculation puts this at 40+ hours printing - I might need to upgrade to a faster...
  4. Suggestions Rush fees

Two days delivery on that not very taught example. I don't advertise rush service, nor instant production, but if I've got to take a hit for material delivery and service interruption, I'll pass that on in the quote.
  5. Print Color versus Pantone vs CMYK vs printers

Reasonable clients, I ask them to not look at the original (flourescent) colours, but does this (the print proof preview) please you? Most times, the answer is yeah, looks good. Other times, I refer them to one or another firm up town, who have way more expensive facilities, and customer service...
  6. Suggestions Rush fees

I've occasionally charged a rush. One, the fee paid for a taxi to pick my son up from training, paid for the pizza delivered to him (and one to me), and the additional hours I worked. Client needed the job, knew it was an inconvenience, and asked me to bill them for making sure the work was...
  7. Cable Wall Systems for photos

These on the right pond are standard estate agent window fodder. Childs play to switch content in and out. There will be a whole host of fixings that can grip the (typically 2mm wire) that are held in place with small allen keys.
  8. laminating table

Perhaps a diminuative someone called Robert could pursuade the boss to lift to an R2R. Gratuitous link
  9. Need Help Laminate makes black washed out

That looks like a matt laminate - it will always(?) drop the blackpoint down, as the matt surface is deigned to scatter the light and reduce reflections.
  10. Need Help Qomolangma FMJ-1600-WA-PLUS Laminator Top Roller Cut

Or a sheet of dibond with a dinged corner!
  11. Need Help Qomolangma FMJ-1600-WA-PLUS Laminator Top Roller Cut

The day I got my first snitty (yellow tools via signgeer), was a day of joy! From my limited experience, not all laminator manufacturers supply service instructions. Almost makes a 3k machine look tempting (and it has the option of vertical knives).
  12. Need Help Qomolangma FMJ-1600-WA-PLUS Laminator Top Roller Cut

I hope that the laminator has put through sufficient work to make the replacement a cost of learning curve. I'd look up, and contact the manufacturer to see how much shipping a new top roller (with fitting instructions) costs, as well as delivery time. Then decide if it is worth the down time...
  13. Laminating prints onto correx

Thank you both, I thought it should work, but just wanted to run things past those who own the T-shirts.
  14. Laminating prints onto correx

A client is asking me to produce 20-40 correx toblerones, each face 800x2000mm. I can print this on self adhesive polyprop, and laminate with polyprop (no vinyl allowed). I'd get in 6mm (possibly 10mm) correx, and cut the return for each face, and join with velcro. The printed images need to be...
  15. Suggestions Hanging wire for small retail signs?

Picture framing wire with matching ferrules, ie https://lionpic.co.uk/p/9342/Picture-Hanging-Wire-Silver-058mm-11kg-100m, and a crimping tool.
  16. Software business management

  17. Question 3M Custom Vinyl Wrap

Sounds like you owe Matt, and Burton a beer.
  18. Best option for printing onto aluminum blanks in scale?

A possibly dumb suggestion - get a template cut, 0.5mm out from a decent sheet of 8x4' (dibond 3mm?), something that has moderate thickness skins*, something that has reasonable dimensional stability, to accomodate the pre-cuts. Might allow you to drop (nudge) the blanks in, rather than going by...

Dan Berg, are you out there?
