  1. Velcro??

Try FastenNation. Wide variety of choices, good service.
  2. Flexi (ancient) sets all type as Italic

Found that there was a 12% skew set up in the Design Central panel. Cleared that and fixed the problem. Many thanks to all who helped.
  3. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

Wanted to follow up with thanks to Roger from Rapidtac who had been following this thread and gave me a call to talk about the use of his product. We discussed my prepping of the coroplast and he suggested that rather than the alcohol and Scott shop paper towels I try just the RapidTac and...
  4. Flexi (ancient) sets all type as Italic

Thanks for the fast response. I'll give it a try tomorrow.
  5. Advise PLEASE. Pigmented Ink printing on Adhesive Vinyl and Laminated.Anyone DO THIS?

HP, Intellicoat, Lexjet make SA vinyl for aqueous printers. If you wish to laminate it, use a thin calandered VINYL laminate over it. It's good to pair substrates and laminates that match. Longevity will vary, primarily related to the stability of the ink. One thing we ALWAYS do when...
  6. Flexi (ancient) sets all type as Italic

We just purchased a used Mimaki CG06 ST vinyl cutter which came with a computer that had an ancient version of flexi (circa 2001 or so). We can import an AI3 file and print it just fine. When we set type in flexi, anything we type is rendered in Italic. As soon as the cursor appears...
  7. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

Wet Vs Dry mount to coroplast Did a test yesterday, and the bottom line is that after an overnight drying period, the adhesion of the wet and the dry were pretty much the same on the coroplast. If you go the wet route, let the mounts rest for a while to avoid the adhesive vinyl letting go of...
  8. Laminator Issues?

Good news. If the release paper is unwinding smoothly, then it sounds like you may have a badly wound roll of laminate. Take it off and look at both ends. Is one tight and on loose? If you switch to another roll, does the problem go away? If so, get an exchange on the roll giving you...
  9. Laminator Issues?

It's a way to check the pressure of the rollers across the laminate. To do it, load laminate on the top and bottom feeds, run it between the rollers and drop the rollers on the lam. You'll end up with a line, maybe around 1/2 inches or so across the width of the material. Measure the left and...
  10. Laminator Issues?

Check the release paper take up. Is it causing ripples to show up on the top roller, or is the laminate rolling smoothly across the roller? You may have too much tension on the release paper roll. Do you know how to perform a nip check? That would show any uneven pressure across the roller...
  11. New Owners of the HP L25500

For a shop like mine, which is not primarily focused on solvent media output, but likes to offer banners, vinyl vehicle graphics and other types of prints better done on traditional solvent media, it was a good choice. We never ran our previous solvent machine every day, and paid the price in...
  12. How do you store it?

Stand it on end, or put it back in the box using the end supports to float the roll. If it's to be stored flat, the roll needs to be suspended from the ends.
  13. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

I suspect that may be the case with these as well. Even with the ac on, it's still humid here in S Florida, so that may be part of the problem. We don't deliver until Friday, and have plenty of time to redo if we must. Thanks for your feedback, I'll report the results in a day or so.
  14. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

We'll give it another try. I'd rather put it on wet, much faster for me.
  15. Dry vs Wet Install & a thanks to iSign

We just tried this and although the vinyl went down easily using rapid tack, the adhesion seems to be extremely weak on coroplast. We'll keep an eye on it for a day, but after an hour, it's still very easy to lift.
  16. When you don't need a 150 ft roll...

Lexjet sells many materials in 20' rolls
  17. New Owners of the HP L25500

The HP Heavy fabric prints well, but is too heavy for a table cloth. Try the simple fabric media from lexjet. It might do the trick. Prints well.
  18. Just got my printer, trouble with cust files.

Here's a link to the file prep guidelines I have on my web site. If they are followed, you'll get good output most of the time. http://www.digitalmomentum.com/index.php/fileprep.html
  19. Whats a good printer for printing on canvas

Any modern Epson, HP, Canon or Mimaki Aqueous Ink printer with at least 8 inks should do it. Also of concern is proper profiling, material selection, capture setup and viewing area. And a well calibrated monitor is a necessity.
  20. Buyer looking for HP L25500 printing

I'm very happy with mine. It prints well on a large variety of material, ink costs are reasonable, ink usage is low, and the results visually are very nice indeed. There is not much odor to the inks, and there is no daily maintenance routine needed on the machine. It can sit for days, and be...
