  3. how do i wrap a helmet

Yes. I like using primer as extra insurance due to all of the heating and stretching. Patience is key till you learn how to make an appropriate template that allows for a bit of variance. All of the helmets I have done have been 80% of the customers idea, and they let me do the other 20%...
  4. how do i wrap a helmet

I have asked myself the same question. While I am getting faster with each one, I am very reluctant to offer this service to people I don't know. I do charge for my time, but have only done them for my customers that I know understand the time involved and are willing to pay for that. When I...
  5. To make a long story longer . . .

I am 100% mac guy, but all my friends see that that I don't have computer issues, so they bring their stuff to me to fix. I have gotten pretty good by accident I guess. One thing, ESPECIALLY with XP sp3 is the that the drivers are installed. Are you reinstalling the OS from a restore disk...
  6. Anyone use a sub$1000 graphtec plotter?

I am 100% mac based and was using Parallels until 8.5 for mac came out. Much nicer to use natively on the mac, but there are a few bugs. Not many people to discuss bugs with, but they are all very simple things and can be checked other ways. Nothing hateful. I wish more would see the mac as...
  7. Metal Poster Design Contest - VOTE NOW (again)!

the only funny thing in your post is the reality of it. Is it possible to for the abundance of lack of standards to become the standard in my head? Probably, but only in my head!:thumb:
  8. Metal Poster Design Contest - VOTE NOW (again)!

So not one of these did ANYTHING for me. They all looked like a joke made up for the contest. I expected dark and edgey, but was let down. Many good rules of sign making were followed, but I think it s possible to leave the rules for a contest aimed at certain audiences... does that make sense?
  9. RGB to CMYK = awful colors for biz cards?

If in Photoshop, save as a PDF and let the engine convert the colors. Open that file in Photoshop and you will see that the file is CMYK, but the colors have maintained their pop. I dunno why, but I use that quite a bit if I need to hit a bright color and the cmyk conversion goes flat.
  10. how do i wrap a helmet

I have a similar 4x4 post setup, but with all the moving around required to get the vinyl down right, mine is not attached to the bench, and since I couldn't find a mannequin around the place, I used a shirt with some rubber bands. I also installed a chin strap fastening device. (That is a...

  12. Aurora Firestorm

I purchased this one and have used it for a couple of projects. Clients could not be happier. and it is only $24.95, so you can make some money with it! For one client, I contour cut it out, but had to do some scissor trimming after the fact so that some edges weren't so sharp. Either way, it...

  15. Printing A Gray Image

try some different profiles from different companies, even the competing companies to the vinyl you are using. more specifically, try Avery - their profiles are pretty good if you don't know how to build your own, but they will need tweaking. Basically what i am saying is that the key to being...

  17. Helmet Wrap

I have been at a motorsports trade show for the last 4 days and had a chance to look at what 360 produces. We clearly go about it two different ways. I use two pieces, and they use at least 7. Their way is a bit faster I am sure, but my customers use their helmets in open air (open cockpit...
