  1. How to do it in PhotoShop

what about a "soft" edged large eraser tool? Run it along the edge that you want blended. Can you do that in PS7?
  2. Helmet Wrap

I posted a couple in the link above your post. I have a few more on the camera of another helmet that was way better in the end than the one in those pictures above.
  3. Helmet Wrap

One piece maybe, but you might just commit suicide because it will look like a much easier option. I do helmets in two pieces and design for that plan. A well designed theme will be easy to work in a seam into. As far as charging, you can get allot more than $250...and can do things an...
  4. Bronco II Template

here is the easiest way to do it right - - Grab some 1 inch masking/transfer tape and grab your digital camera. - Place 3 or 4 strips of tape, both horizontal and vertical, at each end of the wheel well and one or two in between. - Stand back from the wheel well as far as you can and zoom...
  5. anyone try flexi for the new macs?

An Update... They sent a Windows disc in a mac box... next morning I had it installed - no problems. Well, except for the known issue of computer lock-ups with computers that have too much RAM (I have 14GB). I am not sure what the base level of RAM that is OK, but I am currently waiting on a...
  6. anyone try flexi for the new macs?

So I just got my Mac version of Flexi, and I pop the disc in the drive and all I have are PC programs on there! Sheesh... I guess I will call SAI Monday morning....
  7. Printing on metallic vinyl with Valuejet

UPDATE - - - - For whatever reason, this time, the Mutoh saw the R-Tape Brushed Aluminum material just fine and printed perfectly at low temps (30, 30, 35). The end result was a little dull, but after I laminated it, the result was very cool. The printed colors look wet and the lam made them...
  8. Printing on metallic vinyl with Valuejet

Got busy... Sorry... No update as of yet. I am trying to get a sample to a customer showing that the ink will allow the metallic to show through, but then I got some fleet graphics, and a two-car deal, and then...., and then... The customers car will be in-town next week, so I will get to it -...
  9. Vehical out line needed.

OK I found the CD and I have 13 different trucks on it with 4 different families of names - none of them match up to your number/name. Here is what I have - - Argosy - Columbia - Coronado - M2 Do those 4 mean anything to you?
  10. Vehical out line needed.

There is a CD out there (I have one, but can't find it) called Sign Shop Helper - there is a series of Freightliners on there as well as other OTR trucks. Also keep in mind that there are only small changes if any to the cab body, so compare a photo to other outline templates.
  11. Hello...all is Swell

Welcome from a little west of you!
  12. Printing on metallic vinyl with Valuejet

so...I am the only one to try printing on this stuff? I see that you use very low heat and I need a quarter inch around printed edges to keep from lifting, but I am stuck at my printer trying to register the material...
  13. Printing on metallic vinyl with Valuejet

I am going for a worn effect on some R-Tape metallic stuff, but I can't get the ValueJet to read it OK and NOT give me an Undefined Media error. Right now I am testing this with some 15" material and I am loading it in the center to cover the media sensor. I tried turning off the media...
  14. ...because they don't want to ask the shop who did it before...

That was what I had guessed from the start, but Belwe is miles closer.
  15. ...because they don't want to ask the shop who did it before...

First shop is slow to turn stuff around because they sub everything out and are not really that knowledgeable about signs as they are an ad agency. They make stuff look pretty, but not usable. The do fine work, I have printed several pieces for them and their files are dead on (imagine that)...
  16. ...because they don't want to ask the shop who did it before...

I am local and friendly. Thanks for your assumptions. BTW - check out the A on the sign - that has a bit of a different look to it than belwe - maybe they did that themselves... Signs are also sans serif... - At least I have a good place to start - thanks!
  17. ...because they don't want to ask the shop who did it before...

That would be too easy...So they say, here...make us some new ones. I ask whats the font? they say, I dunno... I search, and find something close, but it isn't really that close...seems to me, I have seen it before... :thankyou:in advance!
  18. Banding procedure

On the 1604, there is a "PF Adjust" test you can run - that will tell you if your Page Feed is right or not. What I have found is that if you do have some minor banding it can sometimes be compensated by different heat levels on the platen. If I don't watch carefully, I can get the wave...
  19. Photoshop PSD File size

In CS3, you can save it as a Photoshop Large Document - does that effect your file size? It does mine, but not huge amounts or anything magical.
