  1. Ai Artwork question

It's just the graduations of the gold gradient. See if you can release the clipping mask and delete them.
  2. FB700 touch screen display

Yes I had that happen on my FB500. HP sent me a new screen which fixed it.
  3. coldest winter ever!

It's a very comfortable 28C at the moment here on Earth.
  4. How do you calculate warp for rear windscreen print?

For the exact reason illustrated above. I'm proud to give my clients the best result possible; the less that others take the time to do it right, the more mine will stand out. I warp it using an ARC personally. The way the compound curvature distorts print I've found that it results in the most...
  5. coldest winter ever!

    It's a toasty 32C/90F here!
  6. How do you calculate warp for rear windscreen print?

Yeah good point. That's the process we follow if we're doing a web address or similar across the width of the window.
  7. How do you calculate warp for rear windscreen print?

I don't use Corel but it'd be the same process with the equivalent tools I guess.
  8. How do you calculate warp for rear windscreen print?

So I forgot for a few days. Here's an example of the problem. Goleby's Parts isn't one of my jobs, I saw it on Facebook and shook my head at how any self-respecting signwriter could let this go out (besides just looking stupid, the ".au" of the web address has been cut off, as has part of the...
  9. How do you calculate warp for rear windscreen print?

Yes most definitely a 'smilie' curve (negative horizontal arc in AI). Rear windows used to be very costly in reprints where they either naturally curved too much, where there wasn't enough bleed to account for the compound curvature, or the total height wasn't enough to cover the peak of the top...
  10. Hello from Australia

Hey from up the hill (Toowoomba).
  11. Help redesigning our logo

My 2c: 1. Restrict your logo to 1-3 simple colours. There's no use having effects, shading, etc if you're only producing vinyl graphics and can't reproduce your own logo. 2. As pointed out earlier, changing your tagline to "Vinyl Signs & Graphics", Vinyl Signs & Wraps", etc makes it a lot...

  13. Anybody have a hired sales rep?

Isn't that the same for any employee you hire? If you want to grow, that's the risk you take. But if you select the right person, they'll be bringing in business from week 1.
  14. Anybody have a hired sales rep?

I've had a number over the past few years. Currently my 2 project managers/consultants/salesman/reps are paid decent wages, then bonuses based on company net profit. Negatives I've found with commission-based salaries include: 1. They can make a sale at any price (even a loss) and still get...
  15. Light box face dilemma.

Above 1200mm in one dimension I'd be using 6mm opal.
  16. Advice on which optically clear to use

    Arlon 3200?
  17. Installation of composite aluminium panels on exterior walls

Most of the time we just paint the fixings. If the customer is willing to spend what it takes to have no face fixings, then fix a subframe to the wall and have the panel fold around the sides of the frame. VHB tape onto the face of the frame and rivet to the returns.
  18. Frost/ Etch - Eco Solvent Printable Media

We print plenty of Avery Frosted & Dusted films on eco-solvent and latex without issue.
  19. Bending poly metal / dibond

The groove depth needs to be particular, leave too much of the core and the pressure on the aluminium will cause it to crack, take away too much and there's not enough strength left so it'll crack.
  20. 1005ezRS print problem... anyone?

Yes I sent back 3 or 4 rolls of 1005ezrsl ast year for contamination issues too.
