Aside from the overload of info, I only walked away with 3 main points that stuck out in my mind.... Eddie VanHalen :rock-n-roll:, pleasure vessel and moist oyster.
All the rest of that crap got memory-dumped immediately. Then I giggled a little when I said "Pleasure Vessel" and "Moist Oyster"...

From a pure economics standpoint (as I understand your motivation to be since you said you didn't think it was worth $150)...... how much money would it cost you to get a piece of PVC pipe, cut it to the proper convex, mount it...
heat and stretch is the method I would use..... I would not try to use calendared vinyl for this application or you will get what I think I am seeing in the photos.... splitting or wrinkles on the ridge-lines.
I have actually done a few items similar to this and it isn't all that different from...
I had this happen years ago on a Roland SP300V and it turned out to be the encoder strip. Cleaned it with alcohol and was good to go again until we replaced the encoder strip with a new one several months later.
Have you been able to print on this machine before or are you setting it up for the first time? Are you using RIP software like Onyx? Or are you printing direct from the design program?
A little more info would be helpful. In absence of this info, this may be of use:
PrismJet/ValueJet...
Thanks for the info. I'm guessing there isn't really any miracle tips for reflective removal.... just old fashioned elbow grease and patience.
I'll look into the source you recommended and see if they would be a good fit for me.
As this opportunity progresses, I'll have a better...
You hit the nail on the head.
Cooperation between shops only works if both shops see an upside. The shop wholesaling to the other shop doesn't get much of an upside. They cut their potential profit by discounting to another shop who will sell the discounted goods to a customer at regular...
I have an opportunity for ongoing work completing the graphics, lettering and striping on police, fire and emergency vehicles. I have some experience with reflective vinyl but nothing of this magnitude. I have two general questions:
1. What traps and pitfalls should I be aware of with both...
I've honestly only done ONE printed wrap in the past 3 years. Everything else has been partial wraps and cut vinyl, which if done right are just as effective as a full wrap. I have done a couple color-change wraps for local kids looking to spiff up their car for an upcoming car club event. (a...
Not sure of a good service tech out your way but an 0105 error indicates a problem with the tool carriage. This is what the manual says:
0105 Tool Carriage Connection Error
Machine fails to connect the Tool Carriage to the Head Carriage. Faulty tool carriage connection Loose...
I try to buy local wherever possible so I mostly use a Mom & Pop supplier about an hour from me. Excellent service and great prices.

I don't have a printer either and I NEVER turn away a customer solely because I don't have a printer. There are WAY TOO MANY partners out there who are ready, willing and able to wholesale the print jobs. Signs365, Signs2Trade, FireSprint and dozens of others. These are 3 or MANY merchant...
I have ALWAYS done dry installs...... however, I just did a dry install on a Mustang GT last week using 3M ScotchCal 7125 and had to re-cut the hood decal because I had issues with it. I installed the 2nd one wet and had no issues at all.
I guess wet or dry depends on the situation. Vehicle...
You guys are all quite right. Good solid advice. I think from now moving forward everything will be well documented and he will have to sign confirming any new jobs with specific deadlines as well as sign some sort of memorandum of agreement for any priority changes - that way there is no...
I have a customer in the same building as my shop who has become my friend over the past year of dealing with him. He's generally a good guy but has a short attention span. Lately he has become more and more difficult to work with due to constantly changing priorities and the mass barrage of...
WOW! So sorry to hear this! I'm in NC as well so if there is anything I can do just give me a shout. I'm up in Mocksville about 20 minutes West of Winston-Salem- where are y'all located? I'll help any way I can.
