  1. Vutek QS2000

As a fellow QS series operator, feel free to bounce questions off of me. The ink drops you mentioned could be due to static from the sintra you mentioned. It could also be due to a venturi being off, incorrect manometer pressure or an air leak as previously mentioned. It could also be incorrect...
  2. Tips needed for New Owner of a Roland SP-540i

Use the Roland color swatches. Print out books of swatches for each material. If you laminate, choose some of your most popular laminates and laminate your swatches as well. Use this as a reference guide. If you need a PMS color, break out your PMS book and match it to the swatches. Customers...
  3. Stickers sticking together!!!

We've had this problem with coro signs as well after being left in a car. Customer education is key. We usually separated coro signs with squares of backing paper from laminate rolls that have been used. Seemed to help, though I'm not sure its practical with stickers.
  4. Bicycles...............

Not sure where you are shopping or doing to find bikes that expensive. Those kinds of prices are usually reserved for fancy road bikes. A couple of years ago I bought a nice Trek with carbon fiber forks for $600 new. Thats not unreasonable at all.
  5. Biodegradable banner

Did you read his post at all? He specifically states that he is willing to pay for it.
  6. Applying long narrow prints

If your familiar with the center hinge method of applying prints/vinyl, you can actually do this with a laminator as well. This is your best bet for that type of application.
  7. Wind Slits (if you have to do them, whats the best way)

There is a place and time for wind slits. When doing them, use rolls of tape to make semi cericles with a pencil. Then you need a good 1/2" punch to punch out the ends of the circle you just drew. This makes a nice round, small hole. This makes it so that when you cut the slit you drew, it...
  8. Mutoh Tech Needed

Not to me it doesn't $400 per hour for travel but only charges $100 per hour on site? That doesn't seem a little weird to you?
  9. I need some opinions

I like the second one in from the left as well. It's by far the best. I would also like to see truck in a different font. I kind of like "truck" as small as it is for some reason.
  10. Grit tape -Anti Skid type of laminate????

A thick matte laminate might be a good choice.
  11. HP Scitex FB700

The jets on a VUTEk can be set to clean after a certain interval of time. The new GS series has multiple channels of white, allowing you to print faster with white as well as layer with white.
  12. Magnetic Material Brand Preference?

    What was your curing at?
  13. Anyone know this one!

    Black Chancery.
  14. Static Issue

Shaking your sheets up and down before printing on them can help release a lot of the static as well. I'm really surprised at the number of people here who think it ok to receive material from your suppliers that has hand prints on it. If they know you are printing direct, then more care should...
  15. Horrible Color Printing??? Sp300V

If all your doing is running regular vinyl, then low is fine. Not sure that it would cause all your problems, but its worth a shot to check out. What quality are you running at?
  16. Horrible Color Printing??? Sp300V

Surprised no one mentioned this....but is your head height set to high?
  17. You know your town inspectors stink....

Sounds like a little artificial turf would work out perfectly there.
  18. Stock Storage

If you're not taking the time to box up your rolls, then you know you use them often enough that it doesn't matter. If it's sitting there and you won't touch it for weeks, bag it up at least. If you're having issues with warping at the end of your rolls and it's causing head strikes, then it may...
  19. Gator Foam.. whats like it?

Gator and Ultra are extremely similar. You should be able to transition without any issues.
  20. The Price of Things

That's what unit pricing is for. Usually things such as cheese are broken down into oz for unit pricing, making comparison pricing possible and easy.
