Not sure what I would do, but I do know that a local shop that I used to do business with before I started did this very thing. That was over 10 years ago and they are still going strong as far as I know. Myself I would think all the headaches would still be there and I wouldn't have the...
I have not done business with them but I can say that they were prompt in providing a catalog when I requested one. Although when I tried to contact them about a new heat press and a large order of colorprint my call was never returned, it wasn't Mike though, I think a Mark maybe is who's...
Yeah one offs are a waste of time, no money there, I would go for a 54" printer for sure if I were you. And if you still insist on doing the one offs you can print and cut heat transfers and you won't have to maintain another machine.
Mine does that from time to time and it can cause problems like you are seeing, another thing that happened to mine was the ink lines from the cartridges to the heads cracked once and also caused ink starvation.
I would never settle for a machine that was repaired after something like that, maybe if you can keep it and get a new one, but just the moisture in the air after that is enough to cause problems down the road that will be on your dime.
Typestries or Merritt is who I would contact, just too many to make anything using vinyl unless your getting a premium for them and have a lot of spare time.
The day I've been having I'm ready to sell mine. Maybe tomorrow will be better. I do have a entry level heat press I'd like to get rid of though. Its a Geo Knight Jetpress 14 if your interested.
I don't care what happens once it leaves here, I offer the install but if they decline I simply take their money and could care less how they install. I may make some recommendations but that's it. I really don't even care to do installs to be honest.
