we haven't had a winter in NC yet this year!! its been 60's-70's lately! last year was the 3rd coldest on record, this year its been great!

granted....but it looks like a static issue and that can be caused by humidity. may not be static, may just be a bad head........

humidity/heat level will effect the printer performance for sure. its important to try and have a contolled level if you can in the print room. we have a little clock/temp/humidity device that we look at to make sure the levels are all good for us.

whats your humidity level like in the print area?

don't own your make of printer but......it could be static or a bad head. try cleaning the heads so they are spotless. make sure your humidity is good as well as temps in the area of the printer.

it was on my black head also......was getting small lines which looked like static, but only on the black......

you could use some mirror brackets. yes he has to drill into the wall, but when he moves or wants them taken down he can just fill the small hole with filler and sand down and paint the patch.

try increasing your humidity to around 50 percent. make sure there are no lose hairs or fibres on your carriage. i had the same problem last week, was getting simular results and i thought it was static...although my humidity and heat in the room were good. ended up being a lose hair or fibre...

where in nc are you? i can advise on some suppliers.

thought so..re the 3rd party foil. i know for a fact that apex foils will do this. i actually have a pdf sheet that tells you all about it and what settings to use etc. for example, if your using apex white, you can not use the standard white setting or black or lime green as it will come out...

are you using the same foil? is it an origanal gerber foil or 3rd party? i know on some 3rd party foils you need to assign a different color preference in order for it to print 100 % correct or it will come out distressed.

thats exactly what we did...we upgraded to a new computer, windows 7 etc and we even had xp in virtual mode just to run omega. the cable was a store bought one and it wasn't doing the job so we ended up getting our old xp machine up and running again and using the old setup....much easier and no...
