  1. Question Need help sourcing a weird material

Instead of vinyl, maybe low-tack adhesive fabric like Photo-Tex may suffice?
  2. Question ridge in middle of vinyl

3M IJ35 used to get like this. Cheap cr*p from China. I'd have to unwind it and could print on it without heat and have fans attempting to dry it. Was an attempt, at the time, to take business from Oracal for their 3651.
  3. Design for a 1981 Chevy Van Beauville

I'd also keep the graphics sharper in their turns. Too rounded like you did and it doesn't look 80's anymore. Keep "Chevy Van" in the back, but put "Chevrolet Beauville" on the front fender. My parents bought a 1985 Chevy Beauville new and I believe we had a 1980 before that one. I found a...
  4. Question Prints have “overspray”

Just a heads up: if it does it again and the head is set low, as RJSSigns posted before, clean your encoder strip. It's a known problem with Rolands.
  5. Mutoh 1324 ink not moving

Sounds like there is air in the line. May have to draw that out with a large plunger and inspect the lines to see if there are any air bubbles. Otherwise, I'd start looking at the pump. After all this has been looked at and the problem still persists, I would probably follow up with a Mutoh tech...
  6. Mutoh 1324 ink not moving

Did you replace the dampers and o-rings?
  7. Summa S2 T140 oposX cut on holographic vinyl???

If have this problem especially with reflective and engine turned vinyl. I'd take matte white 3M 40C and make 1.5" squares with the box of the registration mark cut out and place over the area, which would only expose the registration square. Worked like a charm.
  8. fONT id

I straightened out the text but again, like Fred said, it's always best and more accurate to take a pic dead on to what you are looking at.
  9. Nailing a Script

Having a hell of a time trying to nail this script font down. Thought it was Hamet or one of the many LHF fonts out there but I'm stuck...anyone recognize it? Thanks in advance.
  10. Help Needed on This One

Pretty much what jimboeejit wrote...Garamond Italic.
  11. copyright question

Anything regarding a logo for any car, whether it be the company logo or model/trim logo, will be copyrighted and trademarked as to how it is going to be used and model sheets on them. OPRA makes the paperwork open to this in Washington D.C. at their respective departments. Unless you are going...
  12. Need Help NEED INK - Mutoh 1608HS MP2 Inks and Cleaning Solution Discontinued

Try www.hyatts.com or calling places like Sign Warehouse to see if they have the ink still in stock (it has a short shelf life). Otherwise I'd ask your tech or call Mutoh to see if your ink can be converted to MP31 and since they no longer have the MP2 in stock, are they going to compensate you...
  13. Which Hybrid ???

I've been using two (2) Mutoh VJ1627H over the past 6 years without a problem now that the ink has been upgraded. I print on wood, pvc, dibond, coroplast as well as roll banner and vinyl for wraps. It may be slower than it's newer counterpart, the VJ1627MH, but it's been a workhorse as long as...
  14. Trying to copy this font from a 30 year old t-shirt

https://www.1001fonts.com/ringlet-font.html It appears to be an old font from the late 19th century originally named Bijou. https://archive.org/stream/specimensofprint00mackrich#page/n53/mode/2up
  15. Help Please.. How was this done?

Screenprinted. Initially everything but the name of the location which was screened and the name & tagline(s) were screened as needed. I'd look into flatbed printing it and applying clear or shellac for weatherproofing.
  16. Burnout Signs

This sign I did about 10 years ago. It was done on Oracal 3651G with 290G laminate. It burnt out within 4 years because it 3651G a shelf life of 5 years with an 8 year laminate. With it getting direct sunlight for over ¾ of the day, it was a short term job. It's also better for interior work as...

  18. Difficulty Adhering after Rapid Remover

Having to take vinyl off of windows from installs that are 8-10 years old, we either just use a torch/heat gun and RR to get the glue off. Once all the glue is off, we clean it once with soap and water as that the best way to neutralize the RR. Next, we use acetone, sprayed in small doses as to...
  19. SignLab 10 saving and loading issue

I am having a problem with SignLab saving and being able to reload the file or BAK file. I use it on two computers (my 9-5 and at home since it's my personal software) and haven't had a problem with the work computer. At home, I started getting a plugin error with Adobe Illustrator but earlier...
