  1. Laminator adjustment

Update Per above, using the cobbled together gauge I first noticed that I had too much pressure on the rollers which means too much on the ends so I was getting what someone once called "Smilies" the vinyl was feeding faster at the ends and it kind of backs up in the middle. So fixed that but...
  2. Small setup for printing Vinyl decals

Unless that Silhouette cameo has some special magic alignment, in order to contour cut on another machine you are going to have have a setup that can print registration marks on the vinyl and a cutter that can read those marks to get everything aligned before it cuts. Unless you print a lot I...
  3. Have a request for a banner stand that looks like this.

I does look like there is a rigid brace along the bottom but nothing at the top. But if it was a banner there is no way you could get it that taught along the top without another brace. I'll ask what they think it is. I wanted to check here first.
  4. Have a request for a banner stand that looks like this.

They are calling it a banner so I can only assume that its two weighted stands with poles and the banner is stretched between them. thanks
  5. Laminator adjustment

I think only the top roller stops. The bottom one is the one that drives the material through the machine. If it just stalled the rollers you would be measuring the torque not the pressure between the rollers. Think of it like this, hold a long piece of paper loosely between your fingers and...

  9. Laminator adjustment

Ok I cobbled together a gauge. Used a thin piece of plastic from some packaging and a fish scale. Tried it at work today and at full pressure as per the video it didn't slide at all. Maybe the plastic is too thick but maybe my pressure is way too much.
  10. Scary Halloween Experience

I can only assume that xacto knifes are used somewhere in the packaging process but whats alarming is that it got past their metal detectors. Every How Its Made or Unwrapped shows the packages going through a detector.
  11. Laminator adjustment

Also wanted to add I'm in the same boat. I contacted RS about getting a scale and no response. I also need some replacement parts like the 3" fittings that hold on to the rolls and a new knife.

  15. Anyone work with EL panels?

Needing to make some small backlit signs for vehicles for our fleet. I made some with EL panels like this but looking for a cheaper simpler way. https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10801 I had to buy the panel, a 12 volt inverter, a 12v volt plug, solder them all together, stick a decal over it...
  16. Reflective ink ?

Try these. They are sitting on my table waiting to go on Taxi Cabs. First is in normal fairly bright fluorescent light. Other two are with all lights off, its a windowless room, with my flash. One at an angle and one more straight on. Taking a good pic of reflective is difficult. The black...
  17. Shipping large cut vinyl

I'm going over some of my old threads and thought a follow up would help anyone else who reads this. The 3M SCPS-55 tape is working perfectly. It sticks to the 680 CR release paper better the then vinyl does.
  18. 48" Application tape machine

I think the cost just has to sink in a bit and we will most likely get it.
  19. 48" Application tape machine

This is an in house company, we are starting to do graphics for all our divisions nationwide. I'm just looking for a not so expensive easier way to do things and 48" is what this very special reflective comes in. I have a perfectly good home made bracket I made for upto 30" its just hand...

OK found the website of the machine I was looking for, it's the EZY TAPER. Big problem I have is the cost. It's a third of the way to getting a Rolls Roller. :(
