Yea I guess this was just the bait.
I work for a limo company and get similar requests from overseas. They ask to over charge the CC for X amount to pay for the local meeting planner through Western Union.
Yea right.
How do you know its a scam?
The ones I have seen involve having to use some odd freight company to send the banners overseas.
Not saying it isn't just wondering.
One system I have seen is that the material is cut and then magnetized.

This is more of an art installation so the separate panels would actually work better. They are planning to hang other single panel banners in other places.
thanks for the help
OK just talked to the designer and we are probably do it as 5 individual 4' wide panels and not seam them.
For the edge I'm just going to use Banner Up Power tape instead of a hem. Its easier and it will give it I think a slightly better edge smooth edge since I would be hemming by hand with...
The issue I have is I have no where clean to roll it out. I have thousands of square feet of enclosed space but it all dirty garage.
Maybe I can talk to my sons, they are working as summer janitors at one of our local elem schools and maybe I could use the gym. I also know all the regular guys...

I've never done a seamed banner and wondering should I seam it as two pieces...
Since posting that I have been rethinking this and now see how it would work perfectly. Actually the wider the gap the less the material is stretching. Probably would have taken a third of the time. :banghead:
Question, ok you span the ribs and when you roll into the gap I would assume you you...
I would be afraid that it would over stretch the vinyl. Just watched a video pointing out that you shouldn't stretch the vinyl more than 30%. I was using oracal 3551RA which is speced for slight curves and rivets.
Yea subtlety is not their thing. :Big Laugh
Their smoker, made from an old Checker Cab, is their big draw so thats why they wanted to showcase it on the trailer. The making of the smoker was on a Food Network Show called The Shed (sorry can't find a clip). There was even going to be a reality...
Well the guys that make up the 3 taxi guys would be the first to tell you that they ARE a very childish bunch. They got first place for Crowd Favorite and were invited to compete at Memphis in May this weekend which I understand is a pretty big deal.
You can't see it here but on the...
I saw her and her partner take tons of photos and measure everything but I guess she forgot it all in the crush to get it done.
On the other side we had to drop it down so far things like websites were completely cut off.
The sad part is that this trailer has been sitting in our garage since...
