  1. Need a printer and torn what to get

The UCJV300 is a good, reliable machine, but a lot of people stay away from UV for wraps and mostly because solvent or latex is a proven solid solution for wraps. From what I've heard you can do wraps with UV inks but installation can be harder due to it preventing stretching etc. That being...
  2. Question W9 forms

We get W9 requests from larger companies/customers and it's usually just to have our EIN on record just in case. I think they do it to verify your status so they don't get in trouble during tax season. Since we're an S-corp, they just file it away but if we were an LLC they might need to send a...
  3. Roland SP300v Head Soak Question

If ink is receding back up the tube, you most likely need new dampers and/or the o-ring seal between the damper and ink line is bad. The dampers are responsible for regulating the pressure in the ink line.
  4. Rasterlink stuck at locating & printing

Mimaki recommends using a USB cable no longer than 14 ft. with no hubs etc. For some reason they are more susceptible to noise than other printers.
  5. Can you speed up UCJV300 where there is no data?

Make sure there is actually nothing in the file in that spot. Not even a white background. I know logical seek will skip feed direction on older Mimakis but they may not have continued that on your model as too.
  6. Can you speed up UCJV300 where there is no data?

I believe if you go into the Setup menu and turn on "Logical Seek" it will speed up the feed in those spots.
  7. UJF6042 sudden loss of White White head and channel, but test prints fine

It sounds like maybe the head is failing. Sometimes the variable dot function will malfunction and only allow a certain sized dot to to fire. So that would explain why it fires on the nozzle check but not more involved patterns that may use the variable dot function.
  8. Question Captop problem?

Make sure you got the wipers in the right orientation. If you put them in backwards they don't make good contact with the head surface. Sounds like ink is being left behind which would cause the contamination. Also, take your waste bottle off and hold it under the waste tube and run a cleaning...
  9. Mutoh 1324 new Maintenance Station noise

I've sold many many maintenance stations and in my experience some make a lot of noise and others don't. It doesn't seem to affect the function most of the time. Mutoh does recommend greasing the gears on new stations as well which most people skip. So that may help. 3rd party stations fail far...
  10. Roland SP-540i printhead suggestion

I've stayed out of this one just because we're in America and wouldn't be a good option for you due to shipping cost etc. But just wanted to add some info that may help. There's not a single supplier or manufacturer who will warranty a print head installed by an end user. That's the inherent...
  11. Digital Juice

Unfortunately in these cases "lifetime" usually refers to the life of the product/service and not necessarily your life. Judging by that article, you're probably hosed. Sounds like the guy who made it all work died and no one wanted to keep it going.
  12. White Ink printing: which one is hands down the best?

Solvent based white has never quite hit the mark in my opinion. Pretty much any UV machine will do better. The Mimaki UCJV300 is a good roll to roll option.
  13. Need Help Mimaki CJV150 Colours Not Right

I'm not the best guy for that recommendation. Perhaps ColorCrest has a suggestion. There are people who you can hire to do it as well.
  14. Need Help Mimaki CJV150 Colours Not Right

The best way to match colors between printers is making your own custom color profiles. Even printers of the same brand and model can print differently without calibration. Do you also send RGB files to the Epson? If not, try sending the CMYK file to Rasterlink. It might get closer for you.
  15. Changing JV33 motherboard head cleaning problem

Make sure the ink end sensor is also not broken in the yellow slot. It's a little, black, plastic lever that can break very easily. If it breaks, it will flag every cartridge you install as near end which would also cause the machine not to allow you to do cleanings. And yes, if you replaced...
  16. jfx200-2531 part found

It looks sort of like the magnetic sensors used on the sub tanks or some other kind of sensor. You would be getting errors if it's a sensor that should be working so I'm assuming it's a left over from a past repair possibly. If there doesn't seem to be any area where wires used to go into, it's...
  17. Need Help test print alignment

That looks out of whack to me for sure. You need to run the head alignments after installing a head. Also, make sure you clean the area under the head bracket. A lot of the time ink gets in there and makes it stick like glue and so the physical alignments don't actually move like they should.
  18. Need Help Glass Door Decals (New to me)

You can absolutely use calendared vinyl for something like that. No laminate needed. Oracal 651, FDC 4200 series are two good calendared vinyl options that will hold up in the elements. Of course cast will last longer but overkill for something like this in my opinion. Our front door has had FDC...
  19. Mutoh ValueCut 2 Stops Cutting Before Finishing

Most cutters have a small memory and rely on the computer to continuously feed it data. In most cases, if that stops in the middle of a job, the computer went to sleep. Check your computer's energy saving settings and turn of sleep.
  20. Question Mutoh VJ 1204

Once the chip is labeled as ink end, it is permanent. If there is a large amount of ink in the cartridge still and it was triggered in error, buy a new card and slap it on there. That will get you going. If the cartridge is actually empty, you need to get a new one. Slapping a card on an empty...
