  1. Mimaki UCJV 300-160 - Refurbished nozzle check - Black bleeding into yellow is apparently normal?

No, the black and yellow should be completely separate. Usually when they are mixing, the first thing to do is do is check the pressure system is within spec and do an air purge. The next would be to make sure the cap top is sealing and draining properly. Also just make sure the wiper isn't...
  2. Need Help JFX 200 Loud Head Movement

Edit: I found the part numbers you mentioned in my price list. They want $257 each. In general, Mimaki will tell you never to mess with the linear rail as it requires special equipment at the factory to get installed right. They don't stock them here in the US for that reason. One of our...
  3. The UV Protectant Sheet!

When I was trained on the Mimaki JFX200, they said I needed to use the sheet every time I open the covers. I've never used it since training unless I'm leaving a cover off while I go to lunch.
  4. Need Help Sorry if this has been covered print head cleaner help Roland SP300

Use whatever cleaner your ink supplier suggests for your ink. A few weeks can usually be unclogged with one or two head soaks. You shouldn't need anything super harsh. I prefer to use the Bordeaux brand flush solution. It works with any solvent ink and is a little stronger than the regular...
  5. Sp300i printhead replacement

It's fine to change both at the same time. If you do the head alignments in the proper order, which is just the order they are in the service menu, they will align to each other naturally.
  6. CJV150-107 Clean/Flush After Long-Term Storage

Are you sure your machine was setup for ES3 inks? I ask because only a limited run of CJV150s were configured for ES3 inks and the rest don't support it.
  7. Problem with "black streaks" on vinyl material

Do you change color profiles when switching media or use the same one for all? If you do change the profile, try the paper profile on the vinyl and see what happens. Profiles will sometimes use variable dot sizes or fixed dot. Heads can fail in one mode and not the other some times which makes...
  8. Rj900x station cannot pull ink…

When you push fluid through one channel and it comes out the other, the head is dead unfortunately. The membrane that keeps the channels separate broke inside the head which is impossible to fix. That being said, you should still be able to pull ink through with the station even with the broken...
  9. Wrong inks

That does make it a bit different. 3rd party inks will often use the same ink and just change the chip for sure.
  10. Equipment Redundancy - Bad idea to rely on one printer?

This is why right to repair is so important. You were down 13 days and you could have probably put that cable in yourself.
  11. Wrong inks

Eco Sol Max 3 inks are compatible with the following machines: VersaSTUDIO BN-20 Series Printer/Cutters – CMYK + White and Metallic Ink** VersaCAMM VS-i Printer/Cutters – CMYKLcLm + Light Black, White and Metallic Ink SOLJET XR-640 Printer/Cutter – CMYKLcLm + Light Black, White and Metallic Ink...
  12. Question New Printer Recommendations

Oh gotcha. Yeah solvent white isn't the best. The UCJV300 is usually a good machine but it matters who the supplier and tech is for sure.
  13. Question New Printer Recommendations

The UCJV300 was an oversell for what you're doing. Get a solvent printer. Mimaki JV150, Mutoh XPJ1641SR Pro are two good options.
  14. 1324x issues strike yet again

Mutoh's smart card system definitely fails more often than other brands I work on. The main problem I see is that 1 bad/misaligned card can cause the entire system to error out. They did do a firmware update that made it so you could have 2 cards fail and it would allow you to continue anyway...
  15. Need input on which kind of Computer is the best to use for Designing.

We call it a, "Loose nut behind the keyboard." I agree. Something has to be not setup properly or some setting is off. Is this the age old issue of plugging the HDMI cable into the integrated graphics port on the main board and not the graphics card maybe?
  16. Storage of Vinyl Upright

Check these guys out - https://www.image1impact.com/products-categories/media-racks/ I've used their stuff and it works well. Should at least give you an idea of your options. Also, just in case you don't know, you can store vinyl on it's side, you just don't want to store it on a flat surface...
  17. Problem with DX5

That's a pretty common issue I've seen with the older JV33 and CJV30 models. I would change the cap top slider or just the whole station entirely. The slider is usually the culprit though. The pegs that slide back and forth wear out and cause the cap top not line up correctly and it always makes...
  18. So this was a first ...

AndersHerp's next post will be, "Is there a windows driver for my printer?"
  19. Can anyone do fine printing?

Yup, highest resolution file with properly set ink levels, slowest motor speed available, and perfect head alignments.
  20. Happy Halloween everyone

Trunk or treating is ruining the old trick or treating. People drive to a parking lot and do it there instead. It's easier to do but kills the magic.
