Well, I am not an expert, nor user of wide format printer (acctually - I am user wannabe :{). hopefully soon), but i've done a lot of research, and I did see samples from VP 300v. Here is the deal: Your printer uses Epson print heads, a little older in manufacture (there is newer generation)...

^ acctually, I did think it is media thickness, since I couldn't understand the Mutoh specifications any other way. Thnx for the info!!!!! But, bottom line is - Mutoh VJ 1304 DO NOT HAVE LIMITATION AT MEDIA THICKNESS WORSE THAN COMPETITION (Roland VP 540, Mimaki CJV30 - 130)?????

It's being months since I decided to buy me a wide format printer, but I still didn't do so. 6. Can't hit my color

... actually, solvent inks have slightly WIDER color gamut then traditional offset prints. So, U might get better results if You prepare for print in RGB mode, and then try using color profiles to get the most out of it (so - machine will transform Your colors to a closer match).
  7. Cjv30-130

Oh, and I forgot: here, with discounts I get vp540 400 euros cheaper than cjv30-160. VP540V - 15500 euros, CJV30-160 15900 euros (1euro is around 0.78 bucks now, I think). It is pretty big difference in width, both for print and cut, and can be crutial sometimes. And, U get more options to use...

  12. Laminate by varnish?

I found a dealer for clear shield in my neighbour-country (which is a big deal, actually, in this small country), so the question of ANOTHERDOG remains - how durable is it compared to hot/cold lamination? On clear shield site there is no estimation of longevity of lamination, though, there is...
  13. Laminate by varnish?

So, since this forum has been really helpfull with my decision to buy a Roland, I have one more question, and it is about lamination: I know it can be done with some sort of varnish for lamination, (don't know if varnish is correct english word for it), that is applied to a print with a brush...
