  1. Choice of Perforated Material on Windows

Most window perf lasts one year, 3M is a 2 year product. Many laminate with optically clear laminate, this keeps dirt from building up in the open areas.
  2. Huge Mistake, vinyl on paint

I suspect flat paint is not the issue, it is most likely the stain resistant additive. Flat, rough surfaces are not typically a problem for adhesion, which is why you rough up some surfaces so they accept new paint. Low surface energy is usually a result of impurities on the surface, hence...
  3. Suggestions Oh boy..........................

It is starting to look like even a perfect installation may not meet her approval and a new design may be requested. Is it time to fire the customer? or is your 40 year relationship with the good partner, worth a reprint?
  4. IPA is damaging our coroplast -- printing shows it and it's BAD

Can you wear gloves when handling the coro? or is it coming with fingerprints? If it is coming with fingerprints ask your supplier to handle it properly and wrap prior to shipping. As far as using another supplier Coroplast, Matraplast and Interplast are all owned by the same company...
  5. polycarbonate stickers for instrument panels

If using a wide format digital printer make sure the ink is solvent resistant as 3M467 is aggressive. It can attack the ink on subsurface prints and cause delamination.

  7. Oracal 751 black problems

This is true. Many of the low volume, low margin and slow paying customers are the most demanding.
  9. Advise on horrible customer

Thanks for the lesson but I like to approach things in a positive manner if possible. Taking a negative posture right off the bat will not move the ball forward. The OP visited the customer and opened the lines of communication and let him know how they work. It will either work or it wont...

  12. Cleaning fluid question.

I work for an ink manufacturer and where we are located we are not aloud to have acetone in our facility. We produce many ink lines and acetone is in none of our thinners, press washes, digital ink flush or washups. It is a class 3 dangerous good for shipping due to the flash point. Are you sure...
  13. Recyclable alternatives for Corrugated Plastic

You are correct it was Matraplast that marketed that product. People were not willing to pay the extra $ and they dropped the product.

  15. Advise on horrible customer

It is not about patronizing bad behavior its about modifying it to your advantage. Maybe this person just needs to be educated a bit about what the process really is. Why burn the bridge when the fence may be able to be mended and business may even grow and become pleasurable. Tacking a bully by...

Let him know his companies orders are one of your top priorities and invite him to your place of business for a tour and lunch. Show him what you and your team do for them on a daily basis. Maybe walk him through one of his orders. He may not fully understand what you actually do for them or...

Their eco solvent inks are plug and play, chemically compatible and match the color gamut of the OEM products. Not all third party inks are bad. Bordeaux has had their own...
