The only memory problem I know about is my own.........
But when you type that error into google it comes up with memory issues for other printers and such, so it has somthing to do with the CJ's built in DRam but I have never seen or heard another person with that issue on a printer.
Have...
When you said pictures of dates I thought you were talking the women he dates.
I got an idea...... I will do two on canvas but as computer generated art (got to take some time to think about how to design it...) and if someone has a million to bid on it, I will put a second one on Ebay and...
What Salmoneye said.....
The first menu sign I peeled the lettering off of was only a 30 x 40 inch and took 3 hrs to clear off and remove residue. I printed a backlit for the one going on.
Now to do it again........ get a clothing steamer if this is lexan or plexi that the letters are...
That's a good idea just so you know for sure.
My Oracal is actually 3641 (not many seem to use and its getting old) but was a mid grade vinyl but I also found with a LG 3810 (I think) also needed the higher heat as it too was a low to mid grade (3 year) vinyl.
Again I converted my CJ 500...
The one I have problems with is oracal 3641 and to get it to print without grain I need my temp reading at 115 to 120F. I have a home made heat strip and a cooking probe for a temp reading so my 120F may not be your 120F.
I have read that most crank up the heat on mid grade vinyl so I would...
This is a bit of a wild stab but can you feel any change in temp on the platten as you get to the two sides? Any chance the heat strips are falling away from the underside (if they have strips on that printer) or just not as hot on the edges?
Might be hard to tell by touching but I know...
It looks like the same capping station as on the old Rolands.
First use a syringe and attach to that captop and with the heads in place on the capping station can you draw ink?
Does the syring create a suction and want to pull back in?
Check those clear lines that run from under the...
Google "clothing steamer" .
I use one of them and they are easy to handle and under $100.
Can't say enough on how they make the vinyl stretch again and come off with little residue left behind.
Take care on thinner lexan or similar surfaces as the heat from the steam can soften and...
To just print in CMYK is a good idea in order to bypass the damaged (what was black but now Lc) head and get you printing.
I think the same profiles should be fine and you may like the results just as well, as a lot of guys just print in CMYK anyway.
Also good to know that those lines don't...
That is strange.... I would have thought the problem would have stayed on that same head with the other color in place. That would make more sense or even if the problem followed the yellow to the new spot. But to have both working after the swap does not make sense.
$250 for a head may be...
So did the Lm start dropping out or did you not do the whole 6 color fill test print?
Also did you do this test print before you glued the damper down?
Any head will help with seeing if those clear lines still fill up. Even if the head does not print, as long as it was not cracked you...
So just to confirm, you swapped dampers and then the yellow printed and recharged the head where the new position of the yellow was?
Then did the Lm or whatever color damper you swaped with start doing what the yellow did before? If yes to the above then I think the head is toast. Not sure if...
I might be leaning toward the head being cracked as well.
Can't remember if you did this or not yet. Move the yellow damper over to the Lm and Lm to the yellow spot. Do a couple cleanings to charge the ink into heads and then do that solid test print (min 24" wide ) and do a test print to...
I have only cut canvas rolls on a band saw and yes the blade will chew the edges a bit. It's not bad as an outside edge but the inside edge will catch the heads and cause issues.
I found the best thing to do is make the first cut on a band saw through the cardboard tube and then use a sharp...
I have used Oraguard 290GF opt. clear meant for window perf, to print on and it prints nice and runs a little under $600 for a 54" x 150' roll.
Did not seem to have any smell.
Been wanting to try Big Fish's opt clear. Waiting on other stuff for the order.
Was it thicker than than...
You could do the artbot test. Swap the mag. damper with another color and do a couple cleanings to recharge the head and do the same test prints. Where the mag will now be printing another color you can see if that color looks like it did when the magenta was printed. If that new color prints...
I print most of my decals on oracal 751 cast (which says it's for thermal printing) but it prints great with solvent and you can almost print without heat and get a good print. Any cast media should print better or even a matte vinyl tends to print better.
