How important is it to have the lamination that is recommended to go w/ a certain vinyl? Since getting my Laminator I've only been using what came with the unit and now it's time to order a new roll and some more vinyl. Any help is appreciated. :thankyou:

My laminator was the same way. It went away after a couple of test runs thru the lam. Is it kinda of greasy feeling? I assumed it was something to protect the rubber rollers during shipping on the slow boat from china. Have you tried wiping it down w/ a clean cloth or mild soap and water?

Started having same issue w/ my dongle(always makes me laugh). Download driver for Mac 10.x.x. worked like a charm. Didn't know those things had drivers. Scanvec's website sucks for tech support. :thankyou:

Do you have versaworks? Goto Printer settings in versa works it will tell you the IP address. Look at the IP address of your computer. It should be very similar to that(192.168.1.xxx). The last 3 digits can be from 1 to 250(i think?, maybe 500). It just can't be the same as any other...

Lamination Size? What do you do when your lamination is larger than your media? Do you keep several sizes of lamination?

Materials I just got a used sp-540 couple of weeks ago(first printer). I first got any free samples the suppliers would send me to try out on the printer. then I bought some others based solely on price, so I would have media around to turn some quick jobs if needed. I have no complaints...

Is anyone printing directly to Magnetic Sheeting w/ any success? I'm using a Versacamm 540. Thought I would check w/ you all before purchasing the material. I've heard the quality isn't as good as to vinyl. Thanks for the help.

Need to buy my first laminator. what is so hard about laminating something properly? I have a 24" hot laminator used for paper products, pretty easy to use. All of the forums I searched talk about losing lots of material when trying to learn how to use it. Any input would be appreciated.
