Im so glad you're back pal. I don't know about the Yankees though. Maybe the Mets or Padres? Still major league, but needing a lot of work and significantly more training?....:thankyou: You are right about the team though. I have 5 amazing designer in my arsenal. Together we have a great...
  4. Our first full wrap.

I get hives just thinking about what must have gone into the install. I don't know how you guys do it. Nice clean job. Hope you've been well buddy.
  5. Dan inspired wrap

This is ultimately a primary reason why most wraps fail. I'm spoiled because out of the last 50 wrap designs, there was only one we did for a client whose brand we didn't first design - and it was only because he had something decent to work with. Great brands make great wraps; poor ones make...
  6. Contractor Partial Wrap

Try using a wrap which integrates their brand instead of photography. The concept will be difficult to discern from a distance, and if you do pull it off, it will be hard to know who it is the ad is actually for. Unless its for a box truck, perhaps.
  7. Learning Illustrator

Can I just say that I hate this god forsaken program and hate Adobe for killing my beloved Freehand, and Apple for not supporting Rosetta? I just did my first wrap design fully in Illy last week, and my staff was ready to kill me with the 1000 questions I had. After 20 years on Freehand, I'm...
  8. Looking for "Wow"... all I have is "ummm ok"

THis is one I did about 6 years ago in an art-deco format. http://www.graphicd-signs.com/portfolio-logo-health#24 FIrst impressions are pretty important in this business. With a logo like the good doc is proposing, I'd frankly be a little scared. Then again, I'm scared by just about every...
  9. Logo critique

Try and see if there's a way to integrate the components a bit more cohesively so they work together as a unit, instead of separate elements. This is a logo we did a a few years ago in the genre which might be helpful to see. These dogs were illustrated from the client's dogs as well.
  10. My company van design, feedback please.

For what it's worth, I like the second version better as well. It's interesting that many think the grunge background is really overused. I don't think I've ever really seen it before, but than again I don't play often in this genre either. But I don't think the average person is as dialed in as...
  11. vehicle wrap designs

You really think it's that low? I'm thinking 98.4%. Maybe one in a hundred.
  12. Show your rides?

My new baby. Jeep GC Altitude Limited Edition w/ Hemi.
  13. Artwork "theft" liability

This. And add in a hold harmless clause in the event art they supply infringes on the copyright of others. And a professional liability policy is also a good idea.
  14. Dan inspired design

Joe is totally right about earlier work. It's worse for me because a lot of them are published in books, and while the concepts of what is being shown are great, in some instances the execution looks downright juvenile on some of them. But still, they adhered to strong fundamentals, which is why...
  15. How to get better Vehicle Graphics??

    Really? I mean really? sigh.....
  16. Where to find retro people clipart?

No bother pal. We have an extension collection of books which we draw inspiration from, but all our illustrations are built from scratch. Few good books are Ad Boy, another is Meet Mr Product.
  17. face book

We get a lot of work from the FB page, but its also about top of mind, which is more difficult to gauge in terms of effectiveness. We just hit 1000 'likes' on our page a few weeks ago. We're also starting to see an increase in leads via Pinterest.
  18. Renaming Business - Soliciting opinions on direction.

Todd- The question is as much about what it is you today as it is about what you plan to do tomorrow. Charting a course really dictates you have an idea of the destination, and how you plan to get there. Small business branding, and it's success is all about standing out, not fitting in...
