  1. Problems perf cutting on a GR-640

Make sure the blade is properly in place, had a customer once who lost the magnetic tip for the blade holder, and when he tried cutting the blade would push into the blade holder. Also need to change your offset when changing blades. 45deg=. .25 offset 60deg= .50 offeset. What suggestions...
  2. VJ-1204 not printing all colors

Have you tried to manually push solvent cleaner thru the yellow channel? If you can't push then new head would solve. Just my .02
  3. VersaCamm VS-540 puking ink from cartridge holder

I have seen many ink carts like yours coming out of the Roland VS models, usually it's a by product of using white and metallic inks. The printer prompts you to shake the cart, which means removing and inserting the same cart, it puts stress on the plunger...aka causes some leakage. Looks like...
  4. MUTOH Firmware, 1000ml ink & the truth :)

You will/should get an error message of "Wrong Firmware for Printer Model". The X does make a difference. Just a FYI, the latest firmware for the 1304/1324 won't allow you to run OEM Mutoh 440cc carts, per Mutoh the 440's were never intended to run with the baby VJ models (only 64" models)...
  5. Need Help Mutoh VJ1204 'E068' error - I've replaced everything

Check the plunger....aka locking pin. Ink builds up and restricts the plunger from going down or unlocking the carriage and will give the 068 error message.Remove it and give it a good cleaning (It's a single screw that hold the bracket) Also over time the plunger will be slightly bent...
  6. Need Help Roland sc-545ex media setup error

Clean the sensor thats' behind the cut carriage (only use Iso Alcohol). Also clean the metal plate on the outer pinchwheels that the sensor is trying to read. If it still fails, then next thing to replace is the long ribbon cable and the 2 clear guides that run from the servo board to the cut...
  7. Need Help Mimaki JV3 160SP dumping cyan like booze at an open bar wedding!

I'm afraid you haven't solved your electrical problem just yet. That output is being caused by either Head cable not seated fully at the printhead or where the head cable connects to the slider board, or the Slider board itself has gone bad. Just my .02
  8. Need Help soljet xc-540 test print is printing a pink band!

Power down the printer (pull the power plug and then hit the power button on the front panel to dissipate any electrical current). Once powered down, re seat the printhead cables on the Magenta head, one of them is more than likely not seated all the way or making good contact. Just my .02
  9. Suggestions error 092

For the 1638 model there is no plunger on the leftside that unlocks the print carriage, instead you have a locking pin that is located top right of the print carriage. Remove the top right cover and watch the motions......my guess is the pin is not engaging/unlocking and the carriage tries to...
  10. VJ-1204 got new ink installed - Ink not filling up lines

at the very least I would cut a lint free cloth down to the size of the captop, and place the cloth on the captop, saturate the cloth with cleaning solution, lock the head in home postion and power down the printer (unplug)....the wet cloth will help prevent your nozzles from drying at the...
  11. Suggestions error 092

Both Error codes 074 and 092 have to do with the Y-Axis (CR Motor) not the X-Axis (PF motor). Watch what happens during operation, willing to bet your plunger (locking pin) is slightly bent and not allowing the carriage to move left. However would need more info from you to help......what...
  12. Versaworks 6 print / cut crop marks

My guess is you not running the latest firmware version is the reason for the "Greyed out" areas. I believe the latest version is 2.40, it was released earlier this month if memory serves me correct. Just my .02
  13. Need Help Cyan Print head dampner not refilling

The purpose of the dampers is to act as a ink reservoir to each channel while printing. As too why they fail.....multiple reasons...The O rings expanding probably is the number 1 reason (when talking about non-OEM), the clear cellophane detaches from the plastic wall/damper is another fail...
  14. VP540 sudden deflections on cyan head

You have done all there is to do when trying to recover deflecting nozzles.......Try the soaking over the weekend, if no improvement on Monday, then the fix will be a new head. Would also replace the dampers at the same time. Just my .02
  15. Need Help Anyone Know What Causes This Print Issue?

Perform a linear encoder setup in service mode, willing to bet it fails. New encoder reader is likely culprit. The "Wheel" encoder is for media advance, and has no bearing on shifts of color you are getting. Just my .02
  16. Need Help XR-640 unexpected colour issues

Sorry about the misinformation in my earlier post. 9 out of 10 installs customer has went with dual cmyk. I'm used to seeing mirrored nozzle checks. About the only color setting I would change is from US Pre-Press to Sign&Display, unless your using Pre-Press for the RS printer (No need to add...
  17. mutoh 1204 no black ink

Damper could solve, especially if you can do a cleaning cycle and the black shows when doing a nozzle check then fades away. You mentioned it's been 3 years since a new maint. station was installed, that's a little longer than normal life expectancy on a maint, station. Mutoh recommneds a new...
  18. vj1204 random smearing and streeks bad media or what

Clean the encoder scale/ T-Fence using rubbing alcohol only. However I think you have answered your own question when you said you can print on a differnet vinyl without any problem. Just my .02
  19. Need Help XR-640 unexpected colour issues

Your artwork should always be in RGB colorspace, if the artwork is CMYK change it to RGB and see if that solves. Looking at your nozzle check, you have 2x Lk on head A (should only have 1 channel of Lk), and no Lk on head B which could be the real culprit to your problem. Just my .02
  20. Bad Encoder strip. Can I still cut?

It requires you to remove the encoder (Remove the spring side 1st), once its' out then you will need to attach the bracket that was on the left to the rightside, make sure the bottom of the encoder is now the top when returning the encoder to it's home.
