Only way to stop that advancement would be to cover the front sensor on the platen. The reason it advances is to help with the front edge curling that happens on most adhesive vinyls. Having it covered...aka vinyl not advancing would mean your at greater risk of a head strike/ crash and...

My guess is the little spring on the backside of the sheet cut is missing and no tension on the cutter to bring it back up. Just my .02

Sorry but none of the pics are working for me......When you remove the connection on top of the printhead, are you getting Lc ink to flow from the connection? If so then perhaps the problem is electrical. Just my .02

I think you have to go offline, then disable the Unroll media setting, if memory serves me correct. Just my .02

When you do a cleaning cycle and it brings back the nozzles, only to lose the nozzle during a print, then I would look hard at the damper connections, the dampers themselves (have gotten larger O-rings in 3rd party suppilers before), and cracks in the manifold. Just my .02

Have you tried Rolandprofilecenter.com? They have some profiles for the older Onyx versions. Given that the XC and I think the XJ as well have been discontinued would be hard pressed to have Roland create one.

BN-20 doesn't use DX-4 heads, believe its' the DX-7. The printhead is the 8 channel model. As a Roland dealer, I would never associate the word "upgrade" when talking about a BN-20 production speeds. Just my .02

I have been a Roland certified tech since 07, and have never seen or heard of a product key being used for install or running Color Rip or Versaworks software. Perhaps the Onyx rep can point you in the right direction. Just my .02

Hard to say without seeing any pics. My 1st thought is dirty encoder (T-Fence), clean with rubbing alcohol only. Next would be long ribbon cables from the mainboard to the print carriage board. Just my .02

Click on Media Explorer, then highlight the profile you want to rename, once highlighted right click and copy.....you can then rename the profile however you like. Just my .02

Shot in the dark, but have you setup a media length/ media remain? To check scroll to menu/sheet remain, right arrown, then down arrow to Sheet Remain/ Set Length. Like I said its a shot in the dark, but just confirm nobody has set a length. Just my .02

Not sure how your not coming into the shop with the "red flashing" light, would expect that if a damper is empty, and you have to manually move the wing to engage the sensor. I would try a flushing adjustment, to clear up the cross contamination. just me .02

There is no way to change the time lapse or timeframe when the printer wakes up to do a cleaning once it's asleep, or if you have turned off the sub power and left for the night. You can check to see how long of a timeframe until the printer goes to sleep (refer to your user manual page 75)...

Not sure why, but your printer has been reset. True there is no way around the ink setup process, but you can disconnect the captop tubes from the pumps. This will save the ink in the lines. Good luck. Just my .02

Do you see the printer trying to feed/advance the media? When you say it's stuck, are you saying the carriage is moving and just laying down ink on the same spot? Or is the carriage not moving and you see "now processing" on the printer LCD?

If you can draw ink thru the syringe, and not getting any output on the test print, then I would check the F2 fuse on the mainboard. Its' possible that the printhead cables have become partially inserted and thus caused a short, which caused the fuse to fail. Just my .02

The Calibration test/value is for how much to feed the material in between print carriage passes........Looking at your pics, I would lean towards a encoder problem more than a head alignments issue.....Looking at the calibration test, I would suspect that you have some deflection with the black...

I would adjust the capping station height, take that pipette tool and lower the station. My guess is the caps are too high and making contact with the printhead surface which is causing a wicking effect and allowing ink to flow thru head when is capped. Just my .02
