Make sure you have "Full Width Scan" enabled.........I ran into slight color shifts when producing large single color panels. With the scan disabled, it never resest the heaters, and the temp fluctuations caused the color shift in my prints. Just my .02

Can you ping the printers ip addy in the command prompt? if not then it's possible that the built-in network card is bad, which means a new mainboard. I usually assign the addy to be 1 off from the computer ip.....perhaps the 1.20 addy is conflicting with another device......change the printer...

Sounds like the media raised while printing and made contact with the printhead. A picture of the smearing could confirm. Just my .02

With the new head not outputting like the old head, I would check the fuses on the mainboard. On the 1304 and 1324 series you will have to remove the mainboard itself in order to get the probes on the fuse. It's a pain to get to, but at least Mutoh color coordinated the wires to the plugs on...

Change the IPv4 setting of the new network card to be one off from the printer ip.........if printer ip is 192.168.010.100, then make the network card ip 192.168.010.99

Could be the mainboard itself, or the motor for the wiper is shorting out and not completing or running the cleaning cycle that the printer wants to do. I don't know of a way to troubleshoot without a new mainboard or wiper motor (servo motor).

I would also suggest making sure nobody has turned on a screen saver or has turned on the option of the computer going to sleep after x amount of time.

Sounds like you bought a used main board that came out of a 540 model. I would suggest re-initalizing the mainbaord......I think its hold down the up and down button while turning on the sub-power., then perform the encoder setup and calibration after you have setup the limit. My .02
