  1. Roland XR-640 Error Code Issues

Clean the encoder scale and sensor, if error continues then replace the sensor 1st then encoder scale.
  2. Check this out: VJ1204 Nozzles Stuck "ON" - NEED HELP

I have fought this issue a few times over the past 7 years, usually it ends up being the head cable not seated properly. Once it was the order of the CR cables to the mainboard, with all the folds that are needed, the order can become wrong. Does it happen when you send a print file or only...
  3. Mutoh 1204 Printing issues - Nozzles stay on during any print - pictures included

Confirm the head cables are inserted properly at the head and the head carriage board. If cables are ok, then I would look at the encoder scale or as Mutoh calls it the T-Fence (clean it), then try cleaning the reader itself.
  4. Blown Head...? I hope not!

Those scratches on the surface of the head more than likely came from the media guides not being inserted all the way or the guides themselves are bent. Either way the scratches wouldn't have blown the head.
  5. SP300v Green Ink Showing Yellow Casting & Printhead

Like everyone else has stated......Black head needs replacement. For the yellow issue, I would suggest cleaning the encoder scale, also confirm "Full Width Scan" is enabled.
  6. Heavy streaking from print head, xc540 HELP!

Check the manifold on the cyan head. I suspect that the nipple was broke when swapping out the head cables. Also from the picture I would also asked where is the Light magenta and light cyan? Nothing for the "C" channel.....I would test the fuse for that.
  7. !!!!!Please Help!!!!! My Mutoh Valuejet 1304 Printhead does not fire Ink

From the pics attached, it looks like your head is outputting ink. I have seen this before and the culprit was with the head cable not inserted correctly, or just a bad connection. My .02 GTSTech_1
  8. Roland SC500 (converted CJ500) help needed, strange happenings.

Check to see if you over tightened the nut that attaches to the damper. Over tightening will compromise the o-ring, which would compromise the seal needed to prime the lines. Also confirm the nipple stems on the head aren't cracked or broken. Another thing to confirm is the seating of the...
  9. Blowing Fuse (F3) Versacamm sp300v

The TR's should read 42 or 47 (can't remember exactly which one), but if they aren't reading the same, then you will know which TR is bad. My .02 GTSTech_1
  10. Versacamm SP300V - Carriage Rail Sliders Friction

3 in 1 oil should be good enough for oiling the rail. Not sure about the "Nylon" being in the "Sliders", I have gone with the assumption they are metal bearings. If the "Sliders" are giving you the resistance that is causing the scan motor error, Roland doesn't sell just the sliders, you have...
  11. SP300V black/ white prints

Under your Quality tab in versaworks, change the color management to Density Control Only. I had a customer with the same problem and this fixed his issue. Hopefully it will fix yours as well. My .02 GTSTech_1
  12. Mimaki CJV30-130 smudging

Use a flashlight to confirm you have removed any debris from the bottom of the print carriage, once you have confirmed and it still happens. I would suspect a bad black head, from the looks of the pic looks like overspray. Just my .02 GTSTech_1
  13. Cyan offset issue on high quality mode and black line too :(

Check the connections of the printhead cables at the printhead and the slider board, when checking I would also clean the cable ends with ISO Alcohol. If that doesn't solve the issue with the test/nozzle print, then I would swap the connections of the black head with the magneta head at the...
  14. vs 540 heat

Those temps are in line with other printers using the same material. I would confirm that the tech didn't leave the machine in "Service Mode"....hit the menu button, if you see "service menu" then it's in service mode. Simply turn off the sub-power (front power button) and turn the printer...
  15. Print n' Cut adjustment...

Been there done that.......You will not see the adjustments made in that graph........do the test print 2 (under the print/cut adjustment menu), it will print out a square and cut on the right, middle and left side of vinyl. Made adjustments then reprint, you will see the movement of the...
  16. Mimaki JV3-160SP Print Head Replacement - Help Needed!

Check your ribbon cable connections.....aka printhead cables.....1 side isn't making full contact, thus the 1 inch wide streak of color. My .02 GTSTech_1
  17. Boss wants me to flush out our bulk ink system - black tank/head only. Please help.

Lisa, Only way your going to be able to isolate the black channel would be to remove the black damper. Once black damper has been released from the head, then insert your syringe and start drawing ink. It will take you forever and a day if you don't empty the ink from the tank before you pull...
  18. Strange line on prints, need HELP!

The 1st pic looks like an alignment issue and or overspray with the magenta head. The 2nd pic is caused by a dirty encoder scale or encoder reader, clean both with rubbing alcohol and the that problem should go away. My .02 GTSTech_1
  19. Cannot downgrade firmware!

Yes to the firmware question. Seems any money saved by buying a 3rd party head has been lost to printer being down, but I'm sure you have your reasons for going that route. Also note that when manufactures release a update to the firmware, it's usually to improve the performance of the...
  20. Cannot downgrade firmware!

You need to put the machine into UpLoad/Download mode..........hold the up and down keys when powering on. When downgrading or upgrading firmware you have to do it in order.....you can't go from say firmware 4 to 6, or 6 to 4. Good Luck. Wondering why you are wanting to downgrade the...
