  1. Coreldraw X5 question - re: combining objects

Thanks Bob! I must have just been posting my discovery as you were posting your reply..... appreciate the help though!! Have a good one.
  2. Coreldraw X5 question - re: combining objects

Thanks for looking, but I have discovered the solution: Once I changed the 'direction' of the node rotation, then selected both objects again and 'combined' them... it worked and now displays correctly. This is an oddity that just came back to me as I racked my brain thinking about what I did...
  3. Coreldraw X5 question - re: combining objects

Stupid question for you - I work mostly in Illustrator, but trying to re-acclimate myself with Coreldraw. I have an 'closed-path object' within a circle.... I surround them both and click on the 'combine' button. Generally this would make a 'cookie-cutter' object of the two, where the object...
  4. Apple, what a fad....

Just for fun, let's come up with some funny Apple product names: banana phone... Porta-Pod.... Maxi-pad.... this could be fun.
  5. Apple, what a fad....

Ok... When I got my Macbook Pro 17..... it wouldn't hook up wirelessly to my Epson R1800 printer....wasn't a driver yet. It was bent, and wouldn't set straight on my desk....so I had to bend it - literally - over my knee till it would. The #2 key wouldn't register unless you really poked it...
  6. Apple, what a fad....

LOL... that's pure genius David! I likey.
  7. Apple, what a fad....

LOL... exactly. I plug my Windows 7 Pro 64 bit machine in and watch it kick butt, then I say a prayer and ask the Good Lord to not let me waste my money again on a hyperinflated Mac.
  8. Apple, what a fad....

The magical Fairy dust has blinded you.... lol. These gloom and doom pc stories are quite humorous. Mac's tagline should be: "Plug and Pay." I'll sell you my Macbook Pro 17 for half off..... $3,500.
  9. Apple, what a fad....

I gotta say - all this talk of people getting viruses on PC's being the strong selling point of buying a Mac is horse-turds. If you simply keep an up-to-date antivirus program on your computer it's a non-issue. Plain and simple. I will say this for Mac's - they are 'pretty.' The girls sure...
  10. Apple, what a fad....

I swear it's the truth! Tell me that wasn't scary! Bending away on a brand new Macbook Pro! Both me and my buddy did it. Also true about the crashing app.... sorry, but I had to inject a little reality into the mix here.
  11. Apple, what a fad....

Oh... I should have mentioned: My Macbook Pro 17 (and my buddies for that matter too) needed a little tweak when I first got it. Like I said, nice aluminum case... but when you sat it on the desk, it rocked back and forth - wasn't 'square' . I suppose I could have put an old gum wrapper under...
  12. Apple, what a fad....

I see a lot of posts from people from the Mac only crowd bashing the PC's, and the PC only crowd bashing the Mac. I own both; A Macbook Pro 17" (laptop) and a custom built i7 Windows 7 Pro 64 bit desktop. I use Illustrator and Photoshop every minute of every day (sometimes coreldraw). Other...
  13. New Macbook Pro out today

I just got the email from Apple... I priced out an Apple Macbook Pro, 17" with the new i7 standard processor, and the faster 7200 hard drive, and 8 gb of ram. A WHOPPING $3k. Spent $2,500 on the one I have now.... and am personally not all that fond of it. At $3k, I could buy two i7, 17"...
  14. Flyer design for Christmas Sale

Well done - perhaps a little more subtle in the intensity on the big snowflake..... but I like what you've done.
  15. Intuos4 Medium Tablet

I've been using the Intuos 3 tablets (2 of them) for about 3 years now.... best move I ever made. It will work just like a mouse, you shouldn't have any concerns at all with your sign program. It's so much more natural than a mouse... give yourself a few days and you'll chuck your mouse into...
  16. "Post Crap You've Drawn"

You can tell this is an 'oldie'.... but this 'reel-to-reel' tape deck was an illustration done completely with various hardness' of pencils....Arnold was a 'stippled' illustration, Catcher was pen and ink directional lines, Kareem was various dilutions of bleach used to bleach out colored matte...

    Thanks H/O.....
  18. Flash Dryer Recommendations

Thanks guys - hey, can any of these... plug into a standard 110 outlet?? Thanks.
  19. Flash Dryer Recommendations

Hi good people! Just putting my toe in the water with screen printing with a buddy, and seeing what we think of it before expanding into this area. Have the most basic of equipment right now - again - just to see if we can 'do it.' Well, we can... and did... and a simple one-color print was...
